Alan Pope "horrible game"

That means we made this seasons far and away top club, by results if not devalued points, look rubbish.

Had plenty of the game, and several goal chances, lost to just about the only mistake of the afternoon, scrambled in by their otherwise ineffective attacker Kandol.

Fans thanks? - running away 10 minutes before final whistle.

Right, my thoughts:

Firstly, let's make no mistake about this - Leeds were SHIT.

Now, I would like to praise ten of our team. They all played well, and I'm finding it hard to fault any aspects of our game today. We dominated for 70 minutes, and really should have been out of sight before Leeds scored. Tommy Fraser, easily the man of the match, put in his best ever performance - he RAN that midfield. But, all the good work was undone by one man - Adam El Abd. What a f***ing idiot. Even if we ignore the fact he GIFTED Leeds their goal with a total clanger, he made mistake after mistake all afternoon. Short backpasses, missing headers, this bloke must have been playing FOR Leeds surely? Such a shame that his total ineptitude can ruin what was a fantastic performance by the other ten guys. I've criticised Fraser in the past, I've criticised Revell in the past, but they were excellent today. Sadly, they've got to look at one team-mate who's let us down big time, and rightly got absolutely BOLLOCKED by Michel. Also, why did El Abd march off the pitch without acknowledging anyone at the end, when the other players (who had done us proud, to be fair) stayed to applaud? One thing I am sure of is that a certain Mr Butters would not have made any of those errors, and had he been playing we would have gained at least a point.

I disagree with your overall assessment of El-Abd, I thought he had a fairly good game (up to the calamitous slice). Leeds had no clear cut opportunities and the back 4 were fairly solid for most of the game. Unfortunately he did undo all the good work by comitting a howler. I can't believe he doesn't feel awful right now, so I don't feel the need to stick the boot in.

As for Butters you may be right, but you may also be wrong, who's to say his lack fo pace may not have cost us?

Ho-hum. I'm not actually too down about it all, we played quite well and Leeds were, as you said, SHIT. And SHIT happens, obviously.

I wish we were shit and had a record of 10 wins and 2 draws in 12 games

Am fascinated to know how they've played those games - surely not like the 90 mins I've just sat through. It was pure long ball hit and hope in the second half. They really were poor, but still you just knew it was coming, we missed chance after chance and clubs like Leeds will always do this to you at this level.

Why was Kandol not sent off for diving in the second half before he scored. A bit of consistency from refs would be nice

Also, why does Wilkins continue to wait for things to go wrong before making changes? As I said, we were BRILLIANT for 70 minutes and absolutely played Leeds off the pitch, but it then became obvious we were tiring and losing impetus. A sub then was absolutely VITAL, but he persisted with a team that was running out of ideas, handed Leeds the initiative, and five minutes later they scored. Elder on with 10 minutes to go? Forster with 3? What a joke.

Spot on. He was indescision itself. He needs to step up and find the courage to make change quickly when they are needed (which everyone around me could see they were).

Play Tommy Fraser in his correct position everytime would be my other suggestion. He was great today.

Think how many goals they've scored in the last 10/15 minutes, they're simply the fittest team in the league and it's helped them greatly.

I think Wilkins performance, and lack of decisions as a manager in the second half badly let his team down.

Agreed, on top of the fct that Forster came on for our most dangerous attacking player in the game, Robinson. Plus Fraser was taken off for DOUG LOFT?!?! And a like for like substitution with Savage off for Elder.

Leeds were shit, and they were definitely there for the taking. Fraser had the game of his life, should of easily got MOM. I'm still annoyed with Wilkins for not bringing on the subs earlier, we could all see Jakey was tired and we should of brought on Forster much earlier. We doubt with their long ball well, espically Tommy Elphick. Who didn't put a foot wrong all game once again. I thought Martot didn't have a great first half, but he got more involved in the second half and looked threatening. I think we should drop Richards, and play Rents at left back for Hartlepool. Because we looked vulnerable down that side once again.

I am slowly losing faith with Wilkins and Chapman and have already lost faith in White. Not sure about the goalkeeping coach whether or not he has helped FDM.
