I don't know.
I asked if we were making a fight of the game but just received another update to say Ipswich were down to 10 and still looking more likely than us. :(

:( Unlucky lads. We must applaud them for getting this far, winning the southern league. Lets just hope the first team can play like the reserves did last year

Albion reserves' bid for a fourth piece of silverware in four months was thwarted by a strong Ipswich Town side who won the Pontins Combination League Champions Final 2-0 this evening.

Two goals from Chris Casement and Billy Clarke -inside the space of six first-half minutes - killed off the Albion challenge, and gave the ten-men Tractor Boys victory.

Casement had already given the Seagulls an early warning with a header that flew narrowly wide, when in the 19th minute, and again from a Matt Richards corner, the flame-haired defender thumped an almost identical header into the net.

It was soon 2-0 to the home side, when the excellent Billy Clarke demonstrated fantastic technique on the edge of the box to turn and volley past Sullivan.

Albion weren't without chances of their own in the first half; Nathan Elder headed over from a Bas Savage cross, Kerry Mayo forced a save from Shane Supple with a sweet free-kick, and Joe Gatting also headed over the bar.

The home side were reduced to ten men shortly after the interval when Danny Haynes tried to head-butt Gary Hart, but despite being a man down, it was Ipswich who still looked the more dangerous.

Most notably it was Clarke who was proving to be the source of the danger; his speculative looping volley from 40 yards epitomising the striker's confidence.

As the half progressed Albion began to enjoy more of the possession, and Doug Loft had a great chance to pull a goal back but dragged his shot just wide of the mark.

With time running out a floating Sonny Cobbs cross clipped the bar, while Ipswich could have increased their lead further but Cobbs deflected Edward Upson's drive past the post with a desperate block.

Albion: (4-4-2) Sullivan (GK); Hart (French 89), Mayo, Cobbs, Fogden; Savage, Reid, Loft (Wills 89), Robinson; Gatting, Elder. Subs not used: Winterton (GK), Louis, Beda.
