Both sides are provincial "other 14"s who regularly sell out their 30,000ish capacity stadiums. They have the past success, we have the infrastructure and players right this minute, so it depends how you want to measure it.

Couldn't care less. Ipswich have a more storied history, we're further ahead as an established Premier League club. Depends which definition you choose, but I find the whole "bigger club" debate endlessly tiresome.

Ultimately, most clubs of our size are moons circling the orbit of the mega-money, hyper clubs.

To English football fans over the age of 50, then Ipswich are bigger. To pretty much everyone else, Brighton are bigger.

Ipswich have more success in their history, but so do the likes of Bolton, Forest etc... so?

I still remember Ipswich when I was about 13-ish qualifying for Europe. I loved Sixto Peralta because his name was FLAIR. Think they got relegated that european season though?

I'd imagine a player or manager who had 2 choices on his plate who was currently in the Championship, Brighton or Ipswich, would probably consider Brighton to be the better career opportunity at this point in time. That's not the same as saying I think McKenna will definitely come if offered. Loyalty, how he is enjoying the area and future plans will come into it. Time will tell.

If the question was "Who has been the bigger team over the past 50 years" I'd go Ipswich.

If Ipswich Town survive two years in the Premier League, it will be pretty much equal. As it stands, it's Albion. This is in financial terms and much depends on how Ipswich run things (as well as what Albion do).

Historically, it's a silly question, obviously. We are nowhere near them.
