and neither do the people that you are getting the dodgy streams from, nor do they employ anyone in this country.

Amazon may not be everyone's cup of tea but at least they do employ approx 27,000 people in the UK and pay about 220m in taxes thru' Corporation tax, and employer taxes.

Which is very true, but dodgy streams are still a choice I can make whilst they remain available. If that ceased to be the case, I still wouldn't subscribe to Amazon.

And all done quite legally. How much extra tax do you choose to pay over and above that that you are legally obliged to ? If the answer is none are you a parasite too ?

For anyone wishing to pay extra tax you can pay extra simply by sending a cheque to HMRC, you can even specify where you would like to see that money spent. The government releases these figures, and 15 people did so in the two years 2016-2017.

They done nothing illegal,just down to what kind of world you want to live in. Personally I'd rather put a few quid in the hands of a local book shop that actually enhances the community. Or I could save a couple of quid and get it from a huge US Corporate

I'd argue they, and other massive corps, should be taxed more but that's a discussion for another day.

Compare to a bookshop or something where the employees get paid and taxed, but crucially that bookshop also has to pay tax on it's profits. Hence why there are fewer and fewer bookshops

Amazon have a socially damaging and morally reprehensible business model, which any responsible government would do everything in their power to make illegal.

Nobody is going to pay extra tax on their own. That's not reasonable. Every business should be made to pay their fair share if they want to trade in this country.
