I was chatting with a mate who's a newcastle fan, and he was saying he's disappointed they sold Minteh. When Newcastle signed him they were talking about him being the new Salah. Ultimately selling him was so they could comply with FFP and not sell their big stars.
We were interested in him before, but Newcastle beat us to him, which suggests maybe Ashworth used his knowledge of our targets from his Brighton days. The fact we're back in for, and spent 30 million on him, is more the just a gamble. We obviously rate this lad very highly.
