What is concerning me is that we still have no manager in place - Micky went 10 days ago now and Dick said he has received 30 to 40 applicants for the job

If we have had so many i find it difficult to believe that not even one of them would come to us

Surely there must be someone out of the 30 to 40 would want the job??

10 days isn't really that long in the grand scheme of things though. Especially given that we focussed so much of our efforts on Gannon. I'm sure there are plenty who want the job, its finding the right one to keep us up that is taking the time after Gannon turned us down I guess.

Surely if they have applied for the job then, by definition, they ALL want the job.

Dick Knight's job is to sift out the decent applicants from the straight-forward rejects, put together a shortlist, interview and then appoint.

As you so relentlessly put it, we need to get this one right, so who can blame Mr Knight for taking his time?

Agreed. What made it more complicated is that DK wasn't expecting to sack MA at that time and so he hadn't had a chance to tap-up anyone beforehand.

I'm sure that Booker was in charge for 3 or 4 games between Coppell and McGhee so this is about the same.

Indeed it must have been something like that, was it similar between Adams/Taylor as well? Can't remember now!

I think the problem is that we keep playing Saturdays and Tuesdays, coupled with the fact they are against teams around us, it makes it even more ludicrous we have to play these games without a manager.

This is why I didnt want Adams out, but we have to get on with it, because luckily despite us being terrible on the pitch we are only ONE point from safety and not been cast adrift like Cheltenham

I think we are better off giving a manager a one off payment to keep us up, and him leave in the summer, then appoint someone long term. This may attract a higher calibre of manager that wants to put themselves in the window when the managerial merry-go-round kicks off again in the summer
