2nd half was very poor.

1st half we deserved to be ahead.

Does 45 (odd) minutes of poor performance really deserve some people’s reaction?

There are some strange sorts around here. Calm down people!

Do you not feel that 'deserved more' or 'deserved better' is becoming our mantra?

But the problem isn't just these 45 minutes. The problem is we don't win however we play, or very very rarely. Did you not watch last season? This season is so far following a very similar pattern. We won't keep being so lucky in the relegation dog fight.

Didnt watch it but going on the comments we were shite & the Potter love- in is well and truly over. Right good time to pull of a shock win against Spurs.

Piss poor tonight and Maupay looks woefully off form. Potter's subs were also very poor tonight and while I am a big fan he got this very wrong tonight. No scapegoats as such as it was a poor team performance but strikers didn't play well and we look a better side with Connolly's energy for me. Troussard is a midfield player pure and simple. Hopefully a bad day at the office rather than ominous for the season. Time will tell but this needs addressing and quicky...

I thought in the second half West Brom would have a go but we were shite, especially last 5-10 minutes just hanging on.

Shite time for a match, shite performance from the Good guys

Worrying...

We could get really tonked by Spurs. Theyll love the way we are playing.

Nope, we'll play really well and everyone will be cooing over us as we....lose 2-1

Wouldn't bet against both us and them going down this season. We have no idea how to attack and look nervous with a lead. Terrible, we even managed to make West Brom look good, not an easy feat. Call it bedwetting or whatever, but you're deluded if you don't think this isn't going to be a tough season. No passion, no fight and Potter seemed clueless in that second half.

We’re in the strugglers group with WBA, Burnley and Fulham.

We concede goals and aren’t ruthless in attack.

Possession and long spells of good interplay do not guarantee survival.

I can’t see any rational basis for an argument that we’ll be in the company of Stains etc this season.

I think we are now seeing a total lack of confidence after failing to make our possession count in so many games, Worrying times, we look bereft of confidence when I expected us to push on once we took the lead, instead we tried to settle for 1-0.

We are in trouble

Tonight was a weird night and Potter must accept some of the blame. Bilic changed them at half time and we had no answer to that.

However if just one of the missed chances had gone in during the first half when we played with loads of confidence, who knows?
It does seem that we panic under the pressure of going in front!

Hmmmm not great, a game of two halves between to very average PL squads.

We’ve got some quality, but not enough for one or two to have an off night or even a half.

I think we’re in trouble this year, sadly, and that spells a long hard faith sapping slog with very little to brighten our winter months.

Here’s hoping we turn up against a superb Spurs, but (alas) I rather suspect certain defeat and yet more confidence lost :( conceding an average of 3 per game against good teams isn’t a particularly good base from which to build.

If the club moved to replace GP btw, which I sincerely hope they don’t, it’ll be Phil Neville - almost certainly... gulp. I say we stick with GP no matter the outcome.

We should have really got rid of gross in the summer- he offers absolutely nothing. Can’t take a corner, can’t shot, pace of a snail. Their equaliser was rubber stamped with his entrance on the pitch. Another thing Big Dan Burn was buggered at the end fitness wise. He was left for dead in the lead up to their goal- terrible

Not quite sure what went wrong in the second half, it looked like we were running in treacle compared to the Brom players. Hopefully they’ll get that out of their system and turn up at Spurs. On the positive side we didn’t lose, which we could quite easily have done, Dunk is a game closer to returning and it didn’t look like we picked up any injuries. It’s a shame Welbeck isn’t quite ready, I’m sure he’d have buried that first half chance that fell to Maupay.

Disappointing, frustrating but we live to fight another day.

Burn isnt good enough imho (unless as cover or an emergency CB), Maupay is not in form and is as good as useless on his own up front, Trossard was anonymous second half. Lallana ran that midfield till he went off. Totally fell apart after he went off. Gross offers nothing other than a body, his best days are behind him

No leaders and not enough experience and worryingly, as mentioned here a million times already this season, all the other teams around us last year have, in the main, added depth and quality that we havent.

Tinkerman isnt getting it right and nor are too many players

White is finding it hard to adjust to PL, not helped by being played out of position.

Too much tippy tappy football with no outlet.

Awful. It’s a bottom 6, with Newcastle too. I would scrap this 3-5-2 it doesn’t work at all at home.
