TEAM NEWS

Brighton will assess the fitness of defender Dan Burn, who missed the draw at Anfield with a knee problem.

Forward Aaron Connolly could be fit after a minor heel injury but Danny Welbeck and Steven Alzate are long-term absentees.

Newcastle United's interim head coach Graeme Jones has a fully-fit squad to choose from apart from injured defender Paul Dummett.

Goalkeeper Freddie Woodman is available again after a muscle problem.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

  • [*=left]Brighton are unbeaten in all eight Premier League meetings (W4, D4) and have conceded just one goal in those games.
[*=left]Newcastle have faced Brighton without recording a top-flight victory more times than against any other side..
[*=left]The Magpies have won only two of their past 16 matches against Brighton in all competitions.
Albion

  • [*=left]Brighton's tally of 16 points is their most after 10 games of a top-flight season.
[*=left]They have won just four of their 26 Premier League matches against teams starting the day in the relegation zone, scoring just once in the last seven.
[*=left]The Seagulls have let in six goals in their last two league fixtures, one more than they conceded in their opening eight games combined.
Newcastle

  • [*=left]Failure to win would make this Newcastle's worst ever start to a league season.
[*=left]Only three teams have had a winless run of more than 10 games from the beginning of a Premier League campaign and avoided relegation: Derby County (13 in 2000-01), Everton (12 in 1994-95) and Blackburn Rovers (11 in 1996-97).
[*=left]Only Norwich have conceded more top-flight goals than the 23 by Newcastle this season, while Watford are the only side other than the Magpies to fail to keep a clean sheet so far.
[*=left]Callum Wilson is one short of 100 league goals in England's top four divisions.

Is there an anti-House of Saud banner being unfurled at the match? We have to show solidarity with Palace fans (ideally by producing a better banner than they had)

Hopefully Enrest will zip wire from the North Stand roof right across and into to the South dressed in a traditional Saudi thawb, no knickers worn, fishnets on, several gusts of wind en route.

6 of us are leaving for the match at 0900 as walking from Lancing. Giving something back to AITC as a few of us did a 12 kick off the weight program which was run free by AITC.

In my own strange world
Dodgy one this, so many times after a great performance (Liverpool away) the team seem to suffer an "after the Lord Mayor's show" match, I hope this isn't the case today and we put in a solid professional performance and come away with the points, as always supporting the Albion is a case of expecting the worse but hoping for the best!

Well done bomber 130 , walking fo charity..
To the game.... we have become draw specialists. That has to change , we want to win this. I think we will. I know we can if all goes well. So hoping rather than confident.... I hope Biss can play . Enoch did enough to earn a place. :albion2:

A potential banana skin. A winless, managerless side who we turned over last season is normally exactly the sort of game that Brighton bottle but this squad is so good right now that I feel we just have to execute our game plan royally and the Barcodes will be throwing up their hands.

Any truth in the rumour that the away end guest drink is now Lipton's Ice Tea?

Let’s destroy them. Always hated the over inflated egos of nufc fans and hate them even more for selling their soul to a corrupt and murderous regime.

I'm not bothered about the 'new manager bounce', this is the bit that scares me:-

Brighton are unbeaten in all eight Premier League meetings (W4, D4) and have conceded just one goal in those games.

As ever I'm missing the game because of my Birthday. Only thing in life that comes ahead of the Albion is family and this year packing wife and kids into the car for a weekend away. Could easily have done it next week but missing an Albion game shows my love to them more than money can buy.
Evening meal booked in a pub showing the football, I hope they understand....

The dull part of the south coast
I just hope the team have learnt from the inept display at Norwich. I don’t think I’ve seen the boys so casual and careless as in that game and in the end we were lucky, very lucky, to come away with a draw - mainly down to Norwich being awful and worse than us. Repeat that against Newcastle and we could have our arses spanked.

On the positive side, playing Newcastle, I feel Graham Potter will make sure the team are aware of the potential banana skin (I’m sure the players are) and not be over confident. The way we came back against Liverpool certainly makes me feel cautiously optimistic.

Im expecting goals in this.. ASM and Wilson will be a handful but their defence is very leaky. I expect Trossard/Maupay/Lallana/Biss to have a load of chances. Whether we can put them away is another story.
