I’m wrong about the grandfather as chairman.

Vice chairman in the Bamber era, possibly.

Silly old bat
I could have sworn the grandfather was on the board when we went up. Ah well, memory playing tricks again.
He was. It was the 70s and then died on the team bus in October 1980.
Ray Bloom went on the board in 1984.

Beating Man City means diddly squat if we don't beat SCUM next month.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but anyway, Pep was on the touchline for the whole of the warm ups. This was from when the goalkeepers were warming up (1 hour before kick off) and before the City keepers had actually come out and included a two or three minute conversation with Jason Steele whilst Steele was on the touchline fielding the warm up long kicks from Verbruggen. Not sure if they know each other somehow or if Pep was trying to persuade him to move to City as a back up keeper.

You might be on your own there, we won last night great second half performance against a weaker than normal City side. I’d rather beat Palarse every day of the week.

Well yeah, we'd be win the title by miles if we were beating Palace 7 times a week.

City fans again fantastic

Easily the best supporters to deal with from any of the “big “ clubs
Yes they're normally OK. Genuinely don't have too much issue with most of the bigger clubs fans to be honest. Especially those that attend. Some quality 'shameless' accents heading up the slope near me yesterday.

The Big exception for me are united. Who always seem like smug, unpleasant pricks.
