"Since the Premier League returned on Boxing Day, only Marcus Rashford (10) and Erling Haaland (eight) have scored more non-penalty goals in the competition than Brighton’s Solly March (seven).

Brighton have picked up 18 points in the Premier League in 2023 so far (played nine, won five, drew three and lost one) – only Manchester City (25) and Arsenal (23) have won more this calendar year.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are the only Premier League side without a league win in 2023 so far (played 11, drew five, lost six) – it’s their longest run without a league win since going 14 in a row without a win between December 2015 and April 2016."

Interesting on BBC website:

Since the Premier League returned on Boxing Day, only Marcus Rashford (10) and Erling Haaland (eight) have scored more non-penalty goals in the competition than Brighton’s Solly March (seven). March’s goal came in the 15th minute, with today’s date March 15th.

Also saw that March's 15th minute goal on March 15 gave us a +15 goal difference... it was clearly inevitable (not that it felt like it during the 90+ minutes!)

My score prediction was way off, although we should have had a few more, but I truly was in no doubt that 3 points would be ours, tonight.
Another period of a Palace-free board awaits.....how marvellous. :)

You're right. Even though they never looked like scoring I still had the irrational fear that they would somehow conjure up an equaliser 😳
Yes, born by memories of previous games. I don't subscribe to that, and was confident that we would outplay them tonight...and we did.
Let's pop them in the 'also rans' for this season. :)

Brighton defender Joel Veltman said: "Really happy for Solly [March]. After the game against Leeds people thought it was an own goal but he got that one. He's now scored two in a row so that's great for him."

On finally getting a win against Crystal Palace: "You saw the relief of the crowd tonight. We've had some good games against them and lost late but this was a big result."

On pushing for Europe: "We still have games in hand and we want to pull away from teams and keep looking up the table. This was a final and we won it. That shows how we are as a group.

"The gaffer said if you want to be a big team you need to celebrate tonight and then move on. We don't underestimate Grimsby [In the FA Cup on Sunday] they will have a big following and it's a quarter-final."
