As we have got a match on Sunday, I thought we ought to have a preview thread.

We have beaten them twice:

I think they have missed some large defeats. Maybe that was a League Cup debacle. Mostly debacles.

The only match I really remember was the first time we actually played them. I hope we get a better result than that day.

Brighton
Lewis Dunk is back available having served a suspension in midweek against Ipswich.
The likes of Jake Forster-Caskey, Craig Mackail-Smith and Greg Halford all missed the win in midweek after picking up knocks last weekend and will be assessed prior to kick-off.
Joao Teixeira should keep his place in the side regardless after netting a brace on Wednesday.

Arsenal
Arsene Wenger is likely to take the opportunity to give some players returning from injury some minutes this weekend so both Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil may be in line to start.
The Frenchman may want to rest Alexis Sanchez, while the likes of Chambers, Rosicky and Campbell will all hope to be given a chance.
One of the more interesting selections may come in goal, where David Ospina would surely have played had Wojciech Szczesny not lost his place in the league, so Wenger has a decision to make on Sunday.

I would expect Bruno & Ince to start. And I would be disappointed if they don't.

1935?

We've played them 14 times before in all competitions.

from the pre-match brief..."Dick's Bar will be open from 11.30am, but please note that the Seven Seven Stars Sports Bar is not open pre-match."

Have the club flogged this for corporate for this match? Wasn't going to go on Sunday, but do sometimes use, so seems strange that it's closed for the biggest pay day of the season - unless they have lined up an even bigger pay day and need to keep the riff raff out.

Call me superstitious but please do us one small favour.

Leave the match day thread to someone with a track record of winning

Overheard on a train back from London this afternoon between a Brighton bloke and a Moroccan tourist down for the weekend who got chatting away just in front of me:

BB: Do you support an English team?
MT: Yes. I support Arsenal
BB: Ah, Arsenal. The Gooners. Who have you got in the FA Cup this weekend?
MT: I don't know, I'm more interested in Italian football

Buggered if I was going to tell them...

Wenger is Praying

Apparantly according to Naylor having CMS and Forster-Caskey back from injury for the game is a boost http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/117...le_injury_boost_for_Arsenal_clash/?ref=twtrec id class it more of a hinderance having seen how poor both of them have been all season

I guessed as much. I had to check in case Lualua (winger is not playing) made a recovery. I'd guess it is gonna snow now.

“In the FA Cup, god knows that is needed." http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20150122/wenger-we-have-to-keep-brighton-quiet

I expect both to be on the bench after the other night, so it might be better to have the back-up there just in case. Surely, other than Dunk returning, Houghton won't make any changes??

Yes, you would like to think he would stick with the same team.
