As many of you know I work as a discharge co-ordinator, and have trained as a nurse. With all that has been reported i would like to know what you all think.

How do you coordinate a discharge ? I thought you just cleaned it up. Seriously I have no personal experience of Brighton Hospitals but my late mother did and she had no complaints which is more than can be said of the Princess Royal.

Abort, retry, fail
My friend was in the county for a week after slicing his finger off using a nipoff saw. He was very pleased with his service, apart from the expensive patient phone call system.

Friendly, clean and very comfortable.

My daughter had to go to the Dyke Road childrens hostpital a while back and I can say that the staff where great and they looked after both her and me very well.

The royal county has one of the highest rates of MRSA in the country. Feel sorry for anyone how goes in, if anyone does then ask for your last rights!

Or maybe if you want to be that negative about it all you could just not go in at all?!:)

bastards like you just spout the rhetoric without actually admitting you've been there.

we have the first hand responses...they tell us volumes.

if you havent experienced it, why the hell voice off your polarised and narrow opinion.

I can't comment personally as I have a very proud record of not going to hospital in the UK since I was discharged a few days after my birth!

I was in a Spanish hospital in 1997...that was un nerving!

I took my little girl to Spain for a treatment that was refused on the health service here and worked out cheaper for us to go there than for private treatment here and their hospitals (we were in a public hospital but obviously we paid for the treatment) put ours to shame on every level. Cleanliness, the nursing staff, the food, the doctors everything is patient focused none of this you can't have X drug because we don't have the money. The doctor who treated her even came over when she passed away.

If I could have had her treated in Spain the entire time she was poorly I would have. We received some wonderful care in this country as well - but I've lost count of the number of times I had to call my husband to bring in calpol, bandages, blankets etc from our stash at home because the wards didn't have any.

Anyway, that's of no relevance whatsoever to the question about Brighton hospitals!

General sloppiness. SHe was a nurse herself once. I know one day they didn't give a meal for some reason and when they realised they offered her a warmed over pizza which she declined.

I unfortunately have had to go to hospital rather a lot since becoming a bit of a crinkley.
all hospitals are great when you need them and I have no complaints about any of them in the brighton area although I have not lived there for over two years.

now here in wales they are rather shabby but very friendly and on the ball and when my wife needed to go in she was seen in a matter of days, this I'm afraid might not have been the case in brighton.
And all the welsh moan constantly about the NHS.
they have no idea what it's like down south :nono:
