Sorry if this has been mentioned before- but just read a 31 year old brighton fan has been badly injured when a motorbike collided with him and didn't stop after attending the game yesterday. Police are looking for anyone who knows anything to contact them. Puts everything into perspective really. :nono:

31 year old Paul Haywood from Worthing.

Thought it was Notters, as he shares the same name but it isn't.

Let's wish him a speedy recovery. :(

Bloke is still in hospital in Wales by all accounts.

Our park and ride bus went past and it must have happened just a few minutes before - police and ambulance on the scene. The chap was still in the road and looked in a bad way.

Hope everything works out for him - shocking way to end what was, for most of us, a fantastic day beginning to end.

If it is the Paul Hayward I think it is, he used to work behind the bar at the Hove Park Tavern, and I beleive he is now a policemen and is based in Worthing.

Could be totally wrong of course

From BBC:

Fan in hit-and-run after big game

A Brighton and Hove Albion fan is in hospital in Wales after being hit by a trials bike as he made his way home after the play-off final in Cardiff.
Paul Haywood, 31, from Worthing, was hit by the bike which failed to stop after Brighton won the match against Bristol City at the Millennium Stadium.

The accident happened in Herbert Road near the junction of Lloyd George Avenue at about 1740 BST on Sunday.

Police said Mr Haywood suffered serious injuries to his head, leg and arm.

Police said Mr Haywood underwent surgery at the University of Wales Hospital on Monday morning.

South Wales police described the bike as being small with a number two logo on the side.

The man was with thousands of other Seagulls fans who had just watched their team win the play-off final to make it into the First Division.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Eastern Road Policing unit at Cardiff Bay.
