Its very unusual to cound secondary assist in football but it actually give a pretty interesting perspective.

1. Pascal Gross 30 (15 assist, 15 secondary)
2. Solly March 14 (7/7)
3. Anthony Knockaert 12 (7+5)
4. Jose Iziquiero 11 (4+7)
5. Davy Pröpper 8 (7+1)
6. Dale Stephens 8 (6+2)
7. Leandro Trossard 7 (3+4)
8. Lewis Dunk 5 (5-0)
9. Shane Duffy 5 (2+3)
-. Neal Maupay 5 (2+3)
-. Aaron Mooy 5 (2+3)

It would be good to have these stats for open play, ie removing dead ball situations.

True, probably hard to find though. Would probably make Gross look a bit less like the GOAT.

Just noticed Tariq Lamptey got 5 assists (if you count max 2 per goal rather than just one) in 4 games so far, sharing the second place with James Rodriguez (also 5) just behind Harry Kane (6).

Not bad for a right back.

But half of NSC said Knocky was poor in the prem (clue - he wasn’t!)

I find the Trossard and Knockaert stats fascinating. I'm not surprised to see Trossard doing so well, I think he's a very decent player. It's the Knockaert ones that interest me. I thought he struggled in the premier league but his stats aren't too far off Trossards.

Would be interesting to see that split out by season, or perhaps the first 2 seasons vs the second 2

So are we saying there Maupay has contributed the same amount as Murray in less minutes?

I'd say that. I know it's an unpopular view, but I'll just leave that there.
Murray great for 18 months in the PL, but declined rapidly thereafter. Murray a better goalscorer than Maupay. Maupay's all-round play better than Murray's and, despite too many misses, his non-penalty PL scoring is not too far behind Murray's.
Maupay to end up with comfortably more PL/top level goals than Murray.

Tho Maupay would have to go some to catch Murray in overall goals. Hard to compare Muzza with Maupay in the PL as Maupay in the prime of his career and Muzza was in the twilight.

So Maupay is adding a lot more than goals is my take from this. Not dis-similar to Ashley Barnes I suspect.

Can you split out the most premier league goals please. Or actually top flight goals if possible. Would be interested to see where Michael Robinson would feature.

With premiersoccerstats.com (my go to PL-stats site since 2002 or something) dead for about a year or so now, anyone know anywhere else where you can find secondary assists-stats?

Sadly he was. A step too far for him - at Leicester, Brighton and Fulham.
I wouldn’t say he was poor personally. Nowhere near as effective (or is it affective I’m never sure!) as the league below - but he had some decent games still. Poor is a bit harsh. If you want poor let’s go Ryan Harley or Leon Best - even Locadia wasn’t that poor for me - did some good bits at least… a bit poor maybe 🤣
