If that guy isn't a fan then he's a superb writer and researcher. A fantastic summary of brighton's talent.

Posh end of Shoreham
Arsenal always play better against a side that tries to play them at their own game
Which is also the way gus likes to play so could come unstuck
Play it ugly and get in their faces (the Stoke way ) and the gunners don't like it
Arsenal always used to struggle in the prem to Sides away like Stoke ,Bolton and Blackburn

Gus won't change the way we play so will be great to see if we could beat them playing at their own game

It's Hiney

"the emotional energy provided by what is sure to be Albion's largest home crowd since the heady days of the late 1970s may be enough to take the Seagulls past the Gunners and into the 5th round of the FA Cup."

Would a programme collector and stat-meister like Hiney have forgotten about the 28,800 rammed into the Goldstone in 1983 for the FAC 6th round match against Norwich? I think not.

Well he has...... but that doesnt excuse the failings in the rest of his game, silk purse sows ear.

Thanks a lot for the feedback chaps. Yes, it's me. There is a glitch on the site that means that authors aren't getting credit at the moment. Should be fixed by Monday.

Sim - I thought it was better to say 'heady days of the 70s' rather than 'one-off massive crowd in the 80s'

It's very good although you seem to suggest that Andrea Orlandi is new to the Championship and struggling to adjust.

Well a) he's been excellent recently and b) he came from Swansea's promotion winning Championship side!

The rest of his game? What exactly is wrong with his game other than the fact that you clearly don't like him? Maybe you should be on the coaching staff so you can tell Gus where he's going wrong in selecting Barnes? His game isn't perfect-but then, this is The Albion. We do not have ONE player without a weakness of some description so why Barnes is the target for your vitriol is a mystery.

There is no such thing as "the right way". There are a lot of different styles of football and they can all be played effectively depending on your players and their strengths. We play the right way for our players and for our management team but there's no "right way" to play football.

Good article though, I enjoy your writing style Hiney. Your column in the programme is one of the highlights in there this season.
