Was he injured or being rested as he get's some tough knocks at times. Surely was not replaced yesterday for hammond to offer something different, from what was being offered by Bridcutt.

I thought Gus brought Hammond on as a more attack minded player to try and get 3 points to replace the defensive Bridcutt who by the way does a fantastic job.

I thought Hammond replaced Bridcutt because he is fair bit taller and Blackstock was winning a lot of headers in dangerous positions.

As Bridcutt came off the medical staff were looking and examining his face (maybe a cut or something) and he went straight off down the tunnel.

Bridcutt has been outstanding this season and probably wins more headers than any other member of the team but yesterday his timing for his jumps was way out and he didn't win anywhere near as many everybody is entitled to have an off day and he didn't look too happy at being substituted.

I thought is was a) Hammond is taller and they were pumping balls into the box and b) he is a bit more attack minded. So pretty much what others have said.

All valid points - big fan of bridcutt and he is a player that keeps the team ticking - as we know wins a huge amount of headers and tackles - yes I saw that also in the tunnel hence my thread re head injury or just being replaced. Not sure if he was happy.? Always gives everything to his performances dread to think if he went elsewhere. Let's hope not hey

Maybe a deal to sell him in January has been lined up & Gus is giving Hammond some game time in that position?

A thought - but maybe our defensive record is part down to bridcutt's performances

Hammond gets goals, Bridcutt doesn't - simples.

Hammond get goals!!!!!........when, where, how.......!!!!!!!.....don't tell me that one simple header turns him into a goal machine. You also seem to be forgetting the painful misses so far this season.

Bridcutt went straight down the tunnel so I presume he picked up a minor knock.

His career record is roughly 1 goal every 10 games. Bridcutt has only scored 2 in his entire career!

This is not bridcutts role in the team - we have enough midfield players on paper to score goals in an attacking midfield role. Bridcutt sits and guards the back four - if he scores the odd goal even better

Everywhere
Forest kept putting blackstock on him every time Camp kicked the ball, from where I was sitting the sub was aimed to nullify that. He didn't look to impressed however!

I know this is a tongue in cheek comment, but if Bridcutt is sold in January you can kiss the play offs goodbye. He holds the team together as far as I am concerned and we have'nt got anyone on the books who can replace him in that position. To get someone in would cost the same as a good striker so I hope he stays. It was only by luck that he signed for us when Navarro got injured. It was'nt good scouting so finding a replacement like finding a striker would be difficult to say the least.
