Well for you and people like you, who obviously either don't care or don't understand the enormous differences that a Deal or No Deal will make logistically, economically, politically etc, you can just look forward with unbridled excitement at the surprise of what Johnson decides to give you in 27 days time.

It'll be just like Xmas for you, all the excitement, none of the worry (as long as Johnson keeps his word, of course)

Since you must be referring to a trade deal i cant see Boris completing a trade deal in 27 days, so i dont know how he will be able to give one in 27 days. Didnt know the deadline for completing a trade deal before the end of transition had been so dramatically reduced.

I dont recall ever saying deal or no deal was irrelevant, i was happy to withdraw our membership with a withdrawal deal or happy to withdraw our membership with no deal. We and the EU ended up agreeing and ending membership with a withdrawal deal.

Eh? You have just said you are happy to withdraw our membership with a withdrawal deal or with no deal - the clear inference is that a deal was therefore not relevant to your decision to withdraw - I didn't ask you if you had a preference.

So I'll ask again, what is it about the EU that you despise so much that you felt we had to leave regardless of whether or not we left with a withdrawal deal or indeed with any sort of trade deal?

Wait, what? You want to know why i wanted to leave the EU?

As you know, the opportunity to extend that thing that isn't membership, but entails paying into the EU, abiding by their rules and regulations and continuing to take advantage of all their trade deals and agreements finishes in 27 days. You obviously think that a trade deal that couldn't be negotiated in 4 years prior to that is going to magically be negotiated and all infrastructure, systems, procedures, staffing etc is going to be in place in 6 months. I don't.

Why aren't you honest with Simster and tell him why you have done everything possible to avoid saying whether you preferred a deal or no deal for over 4 years and hundreds of posts on this thread. Is it

1. You Genuinely believe it is irrelevant.

2. You don't want to say which in case you then get the opposite and have to try and justify that.

3. You are a middle aged Anarchist, who in between your puff, porn and all night video games with your mates, just wants a disaster.

I know which I think but, just like you, I'm not telling :lolol:

Trade deal negotiations didnt start 4 years ago, They havnt been negotiating a trade deal for 4 years, trade negotiations commenced after membership had ended.

I replied to him, i was happy for membership to end with a withdrawal deal (DEAL) or without a withdrawal deal (NO DEAL) for the whole 3 1/2 years since the vote. We ended up with a withdrawal deal.

You replied but you didn't answer the question.

Wait, what? You want to know why i wanted to leave the EU?
Yes. Specifically, because I can understand some reasoning behind it but not at any price.

Let's say you are of the mindset that we ought to have control of labour flowing into our economy - a fair enough POV - but in my eyes surely there is price that isn't worth paying in order to see that through. So for example, if forecasts are such that we leave with no trade deal in turn meaning a 5% economy contraction because of loads of tariffs, that might mean fewer jobs available than we were trying to protect by ending free labour movement.

That is why I would like to know what it is about the EU that you so despise to the extent that whether or not a trade deal is struck had no bearing for you at the ballot box in 2016.

Since you asked politely and without reverting to whataboutism, I shall reply as politely as possible.
There is a whole thread of contributions of why people wanted to end our membership of the EU, including many contributions from me as to why I didn’t want to be a member.
I have no desire to go over a pre-referendum discussion all over again which would just result in a pointless argument considering that ship has sailed. Our membership has ended.
If you are that interested as to why i chose to vote to leave read the thread again.

That sounds much like you're avoiding answering a very straight forward question. You could have replied with 2 lines and then said you're not going to go over it again, but instead you'd rather I picked over 5 years of posts on a thread with one hundred and twelve thousand replies.

Very disappointing behaviour.

Its not avoiding the question, its avoiding a pointless discussion.
Give Watford Zero a packet of crackers and he will trawl the whole thread for you and give you the reasons
Its a pre-referendum discussion that has been done to death and is irrelevant now considering we are no longer members.

Not even remotely true. An hour ago, I asked you what it was about the EU you so despised that made a trade deal an irrelevance to you in deciding whether you felt Brexit was worthwhile. Now five years ago, you could have concluded that a trade deal would obviously be reached, something that is no longer certain.

I'm not asking you to justify your reasons and promise not to quiz you over it. I'm simply genuinely interested in the reasons you find EU membership so unpalatable that the risk of no trade deal and consequent economic damage pales into insignificance. I've asked you nicely, I'm not really expecting too much am I?

Again, i have given my reasons for no longer wanting to be members plenty of times on this thread.
Im glad you are not asking me to justify my voting decision , i am not required to, as you are not required to justify your decision to vote for remaining

OK I see why you don't want to go over that stuff again.

So with a no deal now looking more likely than ever and no formal trading relationship with our largest trading partner, what opportunity excites you the most in the brave new world?

We do have? And who will buy it that didn't buy it before?

Ive been asking the same. The lack of response is fairly telling.

Been asking every few months for the last 3 years prompted by Andrea Leadsom's infamous "jam and biscuits" Brexit

I did get one response "sell more stuff to China".

What does seem clear is countries know what they'd like to sell us, especially if we drop our pants to zero tariffs...

I would imagine many leave voters who cited more control over borders, tough stance on refusing refugees from war torn countries and asylum seekers political or otherwise as their reason to leave the EU, will be surprised to learn you can still be in the EU and practice this, for example the Czech Republic.
