With the Tories only having 80 seat majority, means those that have been dictated to by Corbyn are now showing their real feelings.

At last some progression.

A 'progression' due in part to the complete purge of all moderate Tories from the party.

Bit rich talking about twitter feeds, the amount of abuse dishes out on there and on here leading up to this point has been embarrassing.

It's actually a bit like winning a the opening match of the season 1-0 with an untried manager and completely new set of players. The winners and losers at the end of the season won't be anywhere near the same and no one knows what will happen, though large parts of it are fairly predictable.

When the real winners and losers emerge in a couple of years you can bet your bottom dollar that any worse off Brexiteers will be blaming this bill for not being Brexity enough instead of taking a long hard look at themselves. I hope any Remainers who do ok are civil to them.

The last time I saw a reaction like this I was walking alongside a canal and saw gang of chavs celebrating as the sack of kittens they'd tossed into the air sank beneath the water.

I am not one to rub it in people's noses in it, but when posters are scraping their bottom lips on the tarmac in a sulky like fashion, and they don't take it on the chin, it does grind a bit.

The brexiteer was without doubt in the minority on this board, and we were nothing short of abused for 3+ years from every angle going.

If people keep digging at us rather than getting on with us, I am sure we could all ramp it up a gear, after the provocation we received.

You seem a sensible chap, you drink a decent stout, and as a mod, perhaps you could be the voice of reason

Can't argue with that! - some of the abuse and derision has been awful. No gloating from me though, although of course I'm delighted that parliament has now honoured its promise to respect the wishes of the majority of people who bothered to vote in the 2016 referendum.
Providing there are no hiccoughs between now and then, I will wake up on February 1st. and give a little quiet cheer.

Everyone in the country will now be worse off for years to come in one way or another, may I ask what it is that you have " won" with the UK ( some of it ) leaving the EU ?

Brighton is an odd club like that though. It's in a Remain stronghold and still has two Labour and one Green (two of them VERY prominent Remainers) MPs after Boris cleaned up in the rest of the country. It's also Sussex's club though and I apprecaite there are also posters from towns that are not as liberal as Brighton. I hardly think you can complain about the Brexiteer being in the minority, That was obvious ftom the original poll on this thread and ties in totally with the demographic of the city and of many of the posters who started with NSC and have stuck with it in all its formats.

That wasn't the point I was making though. The point was that it is far too early to tell if this will be a success or not. Boris doesn't exactly do detail and the ERG don't exactly do compromise. If you feel in a few years time that your life really is better and Britain really is great again and that we have taken back control and all that other noise, then fair enough. But if the country becomes a massive shit sandwich don't go blaming Remainers.

As you know, growing up in the area, Hove was a Conservative stronghold until 1997. Middle-class families, and retired people. Brighton and Hove now attracts a different type of person, arty-farty liberal types, students, amongst others. So many of the older people on here, real Brightonians and Hovites, may well be Leavers, but we're outnumbered by Remainers.

In my opinion it's a shame that this city is going that way, and with the number of students it attracts, I can't see it ever returning.
