With just over three weeks to go before we reach the milestone of two years out of the Customs Union, I was wondering what plans there are for the celebrations ?

Tea Towel ? 50p piece ? A Big Ben bong ?
I am afeared you will encourage them.......

De-regulating the city, bankers bonus caps gone

Reward their mates again. Could there finally be a Brexit winner?

The irony this is announced on the same day that Santander has been fined for significant AML failings.

The FCA seemed to delay their final notice issuing this morning for some reason

Did anyone notice the Unboxed festival this year at all?

Apparently this was the festival of Brexit rebranded…

Only so much as it lost millions. The National Audit Office is investigating it.

“240,000 attendance having fallen well short of the 66 million target.”

So I was clearly wrong in thinking that Brexit wouldn't make a huge amount of difference with a Tory government in charge.

Are we seeing any benefits yet? Everything I am reading shows it to be an unmitigated f*** up. Is there anything to celebrate?

No, you're just very bitter. This is a something that won't go away for about 40 years. same as the length of time that people who didn't want to be in had a vote!

A succinct and honest answer :ROFLMAO:

Why am I bitter? I never held a strong opinion either way (as I mentioned I didn't think it would make much difference). Mainly because I don't live in the UK so it wouldn't and doesn't affect me so I didn't vote either way.

I am just interested in what NSC can point to in terms of successes as I am not seeing much elsewhere and we (NSC) are usually quite good at supplying alternate views on stuff.

I see that things are still a bit raw. Perhaps I will ask my question at a later date . . . 40 years or so?

...and the bitterness over the Vote Leave con must surely 'remain' with many 'Leavers' for the rest of their lives.....

At least I am spared that. I voted Remain.

It will go away as it’s a complete mess. The years we were part of the EU under its various guises were very successful, that’s why we spent 40 years in he club.

Polls already consistently show that U.K. voters think Brexit was a mistake. Bitter old gammons like you will never accept reality.

Wrong, there is already a comfortable majority of people who want to rejoin. We will be back in the single market in 10 years and full members in 15 or 20.

Not surprisingly. Brexit is shite. Only the insular little Englanders and tax avoiding billionaires want any part of it.

I think your prediction is about right; it won’t be the next government but the one after. The pro-rejoin support grows by thousands daily as young voters, who can see the realties of Brexit, register and replace the bitter gammon.

Brexit was always going to be a cock up, but I think you are right, the UK will be back in sooner than some think. Sadly, on far worse terms and with far less influence than before.

Well someone seems a little bitter.

But you can always wrap yourself in your Brexit tea towel to keep warm, spend what the raging inflation has left of your Brexit 50p on your ever increasing food costs, watch Britain's GDP and associated Public spending plummet and hope that you don't become dependant on a now chronically understaffed NHS or Care system. Just a shame you never got the big win of a Big Ben bong.

Still a winner though

There is no statute that things are set in stone for 40 years.

When enough of the people want change - and can get it through the ballot box - then change there will be.

As another point, don't forget the Brexit deal is reviewed every 5 years as part of the agreement. So Johnson's oven ready rancid deal is up for replacement in 2025 anyway. We "get Brexit done" every 5 years from now on. Joy.
