Johnson has won, all logic has finally disappeared from the world. Ppf has gone full on woke snowflake (although I always had my suspicions) and started accusing people of online abuse, and then even more remarkably, posted something that has a reasonable factual basis :lolol:

The UK is a trading nation has doesn't actually make that much stuff, but still exports a lot...

Rules of Origin....I think we have a problem

What level of beta testing has taken place with the new customs system? Has it been stress tested?

Oh well nick another year of hard luck stories from the usual Suspects fast approaching :D

An end of year comment on the accuracy of Nigel Farage's promises....

When we saw your headline, my family's instant reaction was, "Nigel Farage was wrong about everything." Especially his predictions that the EU would disintegrate after the departure of the UK.
Far too many people have not understood that Farage's objective was the destruction of the EU. UK independence was never an achievable objective since the monarchy and parliament was always independent. The EU is a trading group; it doesn't threaten the sovereignty of any of its members.
Farage chose to ignore this because his hatred of the EU members, who openly laughed at him whenever he opened his mouth, was too embedded in his psyche to allow him to think objectively.

Only two hours to go before we archive our destiny as an independent nation free to pursue the trade deals we deserve across the globe while maintaining our ethical standards that bring cheap, reliable two way trade with our nearest neighbours...... oh.

I understand that the new IPAFFS (Import of products, animals, food and feed system) is working wonderfully this morning, in much the same way the Northern Ireland Protocol is working wonderfully, the new opportunities to trade with the world have been taken and the British Economy is booming.

From today, importers' shipments of plant and animal products will require online forms detailing every type of item as well as its source and destination.

But some traders have not been able to submit details into the system because it will only accept declarations with food safety certificates or details of the border control posts where goods will be physically checked. Importers will not have these details because food safety certificates and physical checks are not required until July and several border control posts have not been built yet

Another part of the brilliant Brexit plan comes to fruition :shootself

It's purely ideological now, they've given up pretending there are any benefits or a sunny uplands.

Brexit is now Tory Brexit, a drive towards more neo-liberalism, by a neo facist government

How many years have they had to get ready?

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/brexit-food-imports-government-b1984912.html

"It is like we have gone back to medieval times and we are copying books by hand instead of using a printing press," said Michael Szydlo, founder of Quick Declare, a company that helps dozens of businesses import and export goods.

Bloody Worthing!
Apologies if someone else has already picked up on this, but Johnson has set out the advantages of Brexit. In a very thin list he includes the fact that we can now put crowns on our pint glasses. When I saw this, I thought it was some sort of parody. But no: he has to scrape the barrel to the extent that this is one of the Brexit plusses. This can be balanced against trivial little things like the damage to farming & fishing; the huge extra burdens on business; the thumping loss of export markets; the loss of freedom to work, travel and study in the EU; the irreparable damage to the UK's reputation and influence; and the myriad of inconveniences, costs and f*ck ups engineered by the most disgraceful bunch of incompetent, corrupt and shameless grifters who have ever occupied Downing Street.
