Nope, numerous countries make trade deals with the EU while not being members or falling under the primary jurisdiction of EU institutions.

In reality, we will not be on the path to ever closer union and we would always have limited influence when the majority want to go in a different direction. Sorry if this is news to you.

Nope, that's not news, it's mere speculation.
What do we actually get by leaving that we couldn't get by staying - in reality?

Hardly speculation, how many EC/EU treaties have been signed that return powers to nation-states rather than surrendering power to Brussels without any specific democratic mandate?

Increased democratic accountability

Good old nicko always peddling pro-EU/anti-UK propaganda a worthy successor to William Joyce.

So you think me posting about the plight of Welsh Hill farmers in the event of no deal, the destruction of our successful automotive sector and the risk to our national security is pro-EU?

I'm pro-UK, I'm afraid your ill thought judgement risks the very existence of the UK.

I'm a patroit, you are a nationalist. There is a difference

I'm not sure what else I can say but you do need to take some responsibility for your actions.

You lot really should have explained better during the referendum campaign that we could remain members of the EU and could still quit being members of the single market, could no longer have to domestically abide by EU directives, could remove ourselves from the European parliament, could ignore the EU commission, could pursue an independent international trade policy, quit CAP, no longer have to abide by the Common External Tariff, permanently end free movement, manage our own EEZ independently instead of collectively by the EU,return powers back to Westminster that were previously ceded to Brussels in the name of pooled sovereignty, disregard the supremacy of the ECJ, no longer have to recognise the supremacy of EU law and could veto giving any money to the EU budget……..…..do all this and still stayed IN
Why didn’t you lot say this earlier?

Ah, that's an interesting question. On one hand, die-hard remainers claim the EU is incredibly important and non-membership leaves us bereft of numerous freedoms, power and influence while in the next breath saying our membership doesn't really surrender many significant powers to the EU ever closer union project.

We regain much more control in numerous areas (primacy of UK law, immigration, democratic accountability etc)

That is what I am trying to ascertain.... genuinely!
You just get general terms like 'freedom', 'powers' etc bandied about without clarity or evidence. It's frustrating!

Exactly, they are just slogans, Faragisms and tabloid bollox

Johnson is now saying a No Deal Brexit will be "wonderful" with a smug Etonian grin. Never before has a British (English) PM been so cavalier with lives of ordinary folk

Tonight a Welsh lamb farmer prepares for ruin

https://www.channel4.com/news/pm-sa...-is-very-very-likely-ahead-of-sunday-deadline

This is the truth of the matter. Once they lose their subsidies and have tariffs added to the cost of their lamb, they lose money and they are completely ****ed. They can't herd or grow anything other than Lamb on those hillsides as the soil and climate is too poor to grow anything other than grass for Sheep..They all have their livelihoods destroyed overnight., forever.

No, I think your posts that always side with the EU under all circumstances day after day, month after month, year after year, suggest that you are #teamEU all the way.

They won't last long at all, many survive on meagre income, its a world away from the privileged toffs that run our country who don't have a clue.

It will also change the British countryside forever, such farming risks becoming something we see only in a museum

I just gave you examples of 3 posts, that were nothing to do with being pro EU and all about protecting our safety and prosperity.

I was born a European and will always be, even if for now we have left its political union

I'll be honest and respect you feel this is important for the country, we could argue we had adequate control in these areas anyway but fair enough, I guess the differences in opinion are whether, considering where we are today and the effect on the economy if it's a price worth paying. You and other Brexiters say yes and others say no

Just because a dog is born in a stable doesn’t mean it’s a horse, when you go to the States and a local says where you from, do you actually say Europe??!
