If this angry and immature rant isn't tongue in cheek then you need to chill out and go and find someone mature and sensible to speak to.

Strange list of potential problems? It's almost like a spoof Sun report done for a laugh.

Not sure how there would be food and petrol shortages this Christmas due to trucks getting stuck at Dover, there won't be any trouble getting lorries across the Channel until Jan 1st?

Food supplies airlifted to the Channel Islands?

The best one is still the Navy having to "protect " our fishing fleet from foreign trawlers! Maybe to protect our waters but strangely I don't think French fishing boats want to hunt our trawlers!

Its a badly thought out piece of drivel that could have been written by Johnson himself.

It was about panic buying at Christmas time when it's already a time of year that people buy more than usual. Not HGVs being stuck at ports.

Oh, it didn't actually say that though did it? I have just re-read it and it says " Supplies of food and fuel are all under threat this Christmas if Dover becomes blocked".... Now call me a bit of a " nitpicker" if you like but if Dover does become " Blocked" that is always a problem?

I'm also now very curious about what "Fuel" actually comes in to Dover? Its not a large port for imports other than what arrives in the ferries, and, I don't think they carry fuel tankers for safely reasons? Don't recall ever seeing tanker lorries when I use Dover? Pretty sure that fuel imports are at specialised ports such as Fawley and Grangemouth. So, the more you look the more it seems like either lazy journalism or just plain cobblers?

It does say that in a bullet point. To be honest I only skim read.

But I read further down and interpreted that a known no deal, resulting in the likelihood of holdups would cause the Christmas stockpiling.

Why are The Sun no producing 'project fear' stories?

Yes, it looks like that but the port of Dover can shift absolutely tons of stuff when needed, I can't see there being any real panic buying rather likely lots more " Booze cruises " as the deadline and the inevitable calamity approaches.

It's taken me a very long time to learn but now I tend to REALLY read rather than skim, especially when it comes to Brexit/political stuff. As for The Sun and its shift of focus, it is odd but, even The Mail was trumpeting that Johnson needs to get a grip after the latest A level fiasco, maybe there is a realisation across the right wing press that they have backed the wrong horse ? Sadly for the country, too many thought Johnson had some kind of ability, we have found out to our cost that he hasn't.

Cornwall voted leave and staycationing have their tourist industry a massive boost that other industries didn't get.

I don't see why they should get any more support than anyone else.

Were the voters of Cornwall fully aware they would lose EU funding and the government wouldn't plug the shortfall in 2016?

You'd think the portion of taxes paid which go to towards EU membership, albeit miniscule, they would get that back at least?

8 months on and the usual suspects still wetting themselves ,over what:lolol:

Nothing yet, we haven't properly left until Jan. But personally, I'm sceptical that "the easiest deal in the world" will prove nothing of the sort, we'll leave with no deal and just as Covid19 has decimated the economy and we need all the help we can get, we'll have made it even more difficult.

Is that your definition of "wetting" themselves? Only I've barely contributed to this thread for months because it is pointless debating with ignorant thickies like you. None of us change our minds, but it is sometimes interesting to at least see the other person's PoV. Sadly, you in particular are too stupid to put together a single coherent argument. You have the debating skills of a toddler.
