Gods country fortnightly
Surely that is because if you go on ANY fans forum of ANY club, you will have some patronising sounding fans? Do you honestly believe from your experience playing us this season both home and away, that on a whole we're a patronising lot, seriously?

Or are you just playing on this whole up with the big boys nonsense that you are largely creating yourselves?

Playing it up non-sense, Bournemouth do the same.

If it was the same ones I saw being lectured outside the away end then it was to do with us all being poofs and taking it up the arse etc, etc.
Where they 10 or so nondescript lads, who looked like they couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag?
What a lovely day out they had, at least they got to ride on a choo-choo train.

Two were getting a proper finger wagging by the OB, another 4 were being ringed by stewards, all about 18.

Angry? Why, because I've pointed out that you're thin skinned? What gives you the impression I'm angry?

You just seem a bit of sad act, that's all.

I reckon sometimes people just want to paint opposing fans as being patronising cause it suits their own narrative for the season. After all, (and apart from anything else) we've had so many years of Brentford being a real bogey club, it would be the height of stupidity to try and patronise them. The interesting question for me is whether they actually believe they're being patronised (and therefore have a victim complex) or they're making up a straw man (in which case they're twats).

And I like Brentford too, as I've said multiple times. But they were quiet, given the numbers.

I'd imagine that was them, escorted down to the station and put back on the next train to Brighton.
Still at least they missed Fanzone.

Good post, but good Lord, you can't say that! We might get yet another strange Brentford fan registering on here with the sole intention of posting more tedious "you're all so patronising" nonsense.

It's good we're followed by people from a range of ages around the country but does explain why when there's allocated seating in force many who'd like to stand aren't able to. My ST is in the terraces at Griffin Park and I hate sitting at football, but was in front of a few of our more elderly fans yesterday so had to sit for much of the game. Frustrating but a price worth paying so fans who've supported the club far longer than I have can go and have a good day out (or so the next generation can). Our home attendances have to be considered when considering the numbers we take away, averaging about 10,500 this season but an away average well over 1,000.

The job our manager's doing is brilliant and the set up at the club now is incredible considering what it was not too long ago. We definitely need another striker as at the moment we only have Gray signed from Luton pre-season, who's been fantastic considering he'd never played League football before this season and was intended to be second choice behind Scott Hogan who's out for the season. Still, can't complain about anything at our end.

It was good at Sheffield Wednesday on... er... Saturday. It was unreseserved seating & the stewards were at the top of the steps going into the stand & directing anyone who wanted to sit down to go to the front half & anyone who wanted to stand up to head upwards & then left everyone to it.

It cut out all the usual problems with people wanting to sit down mixed in with those standing up & helped build the atmosphere . ( I suppose it helps that there are loads of visitors' seats at Hillsborough, but with a bit of common sense it should work at most grounds )

You've always had good away support at ours in the time I've been going. I only actually found out today how bad your home form has been this season, surprised me and must be incredibly frustrating. Had a top day out nonetheless, stayed in Brighton until late and navigated the replacement bus and delayed trains back, and I'm pretty sure we'll be back next season so look forward to doing the trip again (though not getting away from the ground/Falmer which is quite something to put up with every other week, but I suppose having played at Gillingham and the Withdean it's a price worth paying).

I have to say getting a train away from Griffin Park wasn't exactly the most efficient public transport experience of my life!!!

Saying it was their cup final is the kind of thing Dirty L**ds fans would come on here and post about us.
Having said that I thought their vocal support was piss poor for the numbers they brought.

This sort of thing is not going to do our steward's reputation any good at all.

I got up early full of excitement. My mum made me put on my Sunday best and she made me some lovely meat paste sandwiches. The neighbours all came out to wave me off….yes it was cup final day….who are you playing Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool? They all asked…. no we’re playing the 19th best team in the Championship…yes that’s right it’s cup final day and we’re off to big club Brighton. The neighbours were impressed…..watch out for Darren Bent, he’s played for England and is very good they said..…I had to point out that, for some unfathomable reason, Mr Bent had decided to go and ply his trade somewhere else.

We had a lovely day out and didn’t play very well but it didn’t really matter because the 19th best team in the Championship weren’t very good. The Cup Final stadium was great they had some nice man with a microphone who explained to the big team’s fans at the beginning how to sing and cheer which was very nice of him.

Some of the big club’s fans were very cross that a little insignificant club like ours beat them, we’re getting quite used to that this season and hear it all the time, and we are all very sorry for any offence we’ve caused.

Hahaha.
He's got you lot sussed I see.

Ok then. A Palace troll has got you lot sussed.

People don't use the word 'sussed' enough these days. I mourn the decline from it's steady usage of the late 80's/early 90's. Nice one keeping the flame going. I'm going to try and use it at least 5 times today round the office.

Marvellous.
Do people still use the word 'marvellous' these days?
Can't imagine it's used much around The Amex.
