Breaking the news

Reading some of the posts on here (Fireman Dan etc) got me thinking about a scenario a friend of mine ended up in a few years back.

He was engaged to be married to a lovely woman, who he also lived with, but started an affair with her best and oldest friend, who then became pregnant. They decided to have the baby, and move in with each other.

I've always wondered how he broke the news to his fiancee. Leaving aside the fact that she had been betrayed by both her partner and her best mate, there was also the doubtless devastating news that the man she was going to marry was instead moving in, and starting a family, with her friend.

I mean, how on earth do you tell someone something like that? "Hello dear, nice day at work? Sit down, I've got something to tell you..."

How would you do it?

Must admit quite a while back a lady I worked with had a husband who worked on maintenance of aeroplanes at Gatwick. Anyway she come home from work early as not well and her husband was in bed with an air hostess, must have been quite a shock for her.
