inexperience explains it all, he'll learn from that and will be stronger next season.

He isnt paid all that many to max an error like that though surely?

And its not like its his first seaon in any form of racing? I would assume that the same principle of not doing anything needless would apply in any form of racing?

what?! he's 22 years old, money has nothing to do with it, he felt pressure at the start to stick with Alonso and screwed up doing something he should'nt of...simple!

To be fair, McLaren were found to have been cheating this year, and if the decison of the governing authority had been taken on moral grounds, rather than commercial ones, they would have been thrown out of F1 and told to go banger racing at Arlington speedway instead.

So if a Mclaren driver had won the title it would have been tainted and grossly unfair on Ferrari.

This is probably the second best outcome of the day for me. If Hamilton wasnt going to win it then I would rather Raikonen won it than that moaning Spanish bastard. Runner up in his first season isnt bad really though is it? He'd have taken that before the first race in March. I reckon he will do it next year.

If it wasn't to be Hamiltons championship them I'm pleased it's Kimi. He's overdue a championship.

I doubt it would have been healthy for the sport for a young'un to stroll in and win it on his debut year anyway.

Im not putting it all on him, I just think he had a great chance and he blew it.

We always seem to cheer a brave loser in this country.

I'm not cheering him, i'm a Ferrari fan anyway.

But Ron Dennis confirmed it was a car error selecting neutral for 40secs, so if it hadn't been for that, even Lewis' driver error wouldn't have mattered, and he would be champ.

Glad Kimi got it rather than the spanish t*sser. Shame for Lewis, only mechanical glitch of season pretty much (other than tyre issues etc). If Mclaren can carry on next year like this without all the cr@p they've had to endure, then Lewis shoudl do well. Hope being at the far end of the pit lane doesn't affect them too much!

Great championship this year.

Also Williams fuel samples as well, so Hamilton could finish 4th.
