They got 14,074 v Darlington on Saturday. They are 6th bottom in League 2. A few years ago they were in the Prem.

Why?

Fair play to the fans,4,500 more than our 'cup final' crowd.

Why are they getting more in? Because they now have decent stands to go in.
Why did they fall from the Prem? Because they overspent far too much money on idiots like Carbone (they even bought him a £half million house) and went into administration.

Why is Carbone an idiot?

£70 for a season ticket?

Blimey. I bought 2 tickets for the Luton game in the North Stand, R block today. Including booking fee, I paid £53.

We couldnt survive if we sold half as many, 6500, at double the price i.e £140 to bring in the same revenue.

People moan now at the standard of the players what would they say if we only paid half the wages we do now and got worse players.

The crowds at Brighton matches bare no relation to price but to where we are in the league. If we are in the top 3 at Christmas see how the gates improve after then without a price reduction.

With the cost of football now the gates are unlikely to improve dramatically, even if we do find ourselves in the play-off positions, the only way to achieve that is by having an aggressive pricing policy. That is to say, cut the cost of going to football, if it means having less money available to pay wages then so be it.

Sorry I do not agree as in relative terms watching The Albion is not expensive. I am going to Hartlepool with my sons on Saturday 5 in a car we estimate the cost per person for the day will be about £60.

Cheaper than when I took 6 of us to Crawley 10 pin bowling and had 3 drinks each no meal and I spent over £200 with just driving 10 miles.

To watch BHA at home £25 you do not have to buy food drink etc and it takes probably 2 - 3 hours of the day you would spend that much and more if you sat in a pub for that time.

I do not think it is expensive, perhaps it is questionable as to whether you consider it is VFM but if we were in the top 2 or 3 positions it woyuld definitely be.

The average drink now is about £3 whether it be a pint a poncy bottle or a spirit and mixer. I drink eve ry 15 mins = £12 per hour. 2 hours in a pub is much the same as a ticket for a home game.

£70 for a season ticket, that is good value and makes sense...playing in front of 14000 each week must lift the players more than playing in front of 4000/6000 which they would otherwise get, it also will increase shirt sales and match day sales, get the Bradford brand known better and encourage dads to take their children to ensure future ticket sales. I don't think we'll see £70 season tickets at Falmer, but I'd like to hope that our club can adopt a sensable seasonticket pricing policy.

They're 2 points above a relegation place at the moment. Its lucky theyve been lifted by big crowds I'd imagine they'd be 10 - 15 points adrift by now otherwise

A very good scheme, but one we are unable to do?

and most other clubs.

Their yearly income from STH is about the same as 4 of our home games. How long would we last if we did the same and people moan about DK now imagine what would happen if he did that and we went broke, which we would.

Abort, retry, fail
and most other clubs.

It might be worth considering for our final season at Withdean perhaps? However, then you have to consider the 3yr & 10yr STHs (Not sure how many there are).

With a small capacity and transport scheme, I would iamgine our hands are pretty much tied and we would have to take a serious drop in revenue.
