Indeed, how much money did you put in? Dick put in nearly £2million.
to be fair doug, when people part with 25 pounds each week that is a fair part of their wage. dick knight will never struggle with his personal finances.every paying punter is intitled to his/her opinions!

I only said it was paradise in comparison to the situation in 1997.

Anyone who thinks that what we have now is paradise in general wants their head looking at.

I think it's fair to say that Sid is far too young to remember that far back.

boycotting a game wouldnt do any good , you would probrually miss out on a 5-4 win ,beer and lots of sunshine and the playing budget may be reduced cause of this ?
come on we all knew this was going to be a transitional season
lets just hope we get falmer as when we do these young uns will be ripe for leading us up the leagues ... keep the faith and more beer:drink: :drink:

He was merely a gleam in his father's ASBO in those days.

In response to that, I'd say look at the bigger picture.

10 years ago, we were in the gravest dnager of dropping out of the league (and if that had happened, out of existence in all probability), and while no-one would be stupid enough to argue that we're playing great (or even good) football right now, the fact is that we have a team, we're in the third tier of English football and we have some hope of a good future (in the shape of Falmer).

10 years ago, people would have given their right arms for the club to be where we are now, and compared to what went on then, the way things are now is paradise.

We should be pleased and grateful that we still have a team to support, and should support them at every chance we get.

Just my opinion, of course.

Frutos is quite right!

How many of the people who are abusing players in the warm up and posting such crap on this board can remember the "dark days" when our very existance was in doubt?

It was hard to turn up week after week to watch a team in freefall through no real fault of their own, but the fans got behind the players and we survived. We need to do that next week and look forward to next season!

Some people think we've a divine right to be in the Championship. I suppose Bradford City, Swindon Town & Notts County should be Premiership clubs on that basis just cos they've had a season or two in the top flight?

Spot on, I think the problem is that quite a lot of our support are reasonably young & the mid - late 90's are a very feint memory.
The amount of success we've had since coming to withdean( even including the 2 relegations) has led people to expect more than they should & has become something of an albatross around the clubs neck.
To me the mindset for Albion supporters should be expect nothing, wish for everything & accept every success as a bonus.

n.b the above will not apply once we get falmer & some financial backing

so after todays result whats the point in turning up next saturday

Why? Relegation is still a possibility so they need our support.

I think it will be between us and Bradford who goes down especially if we lose 2 - 0 next game and Bradford win about 3 - 0

Bradford play Cheltenham so we're safe.

They'd need to score rather a lot though. Granted not a great season but I think we'll hang on.

Oldham are quite capable of beating us 2-0 or even 3-0. We were in top form when we forced a draw away. Now we're playing at Withdean where we lose more games.

I hope I am wrong. :(
