Today was not good enough, against a more average team than ourselves.
wilkins has to go and go now.

Quite simply he should be :ban: :bigwave: wilkins.

Abort, retry, fail
Jonny Byrnes Ego is negative/stirring post shock.

Have you been waiting for two defeats in a row to crawl out and vomit on our screens?

Whatever happens at Bournemouth, the board need to back Wilkins if we are to lose Richard, O'Callaghan, Martot and Savage.

I cannot believe the over-reaction of some people on here. Wilkins has done a brilliant job this season, we have looked a very capable team in league full of teams that are obviously financially better off than ourselves (would we be able to afford marcus stewart and lloyd owusu like yeovil?) He cares about the club passionately, he has taken us away from the McGhee era, beginning to reject the players from Adams' promotion season in 2001 in favour of a blend of youth and experience that has served us pretty well this season IMO. I think at times, the players don't get enough of the blame for bad performances. If we were to let Wilkins go, it would come back to bite us in the arse, he is a very good manager in the making. We will not get relegated this year, but we probably won't get promoted either, which is good, as we would come straight back down. I fully expect a serious promotion push next season. COME ON THE ALBION! :albion2:

i just don't understand how the last 2 defeats can be blamed on wilkins, who i think does a cracking job..... surely it lies with the board and their inabilitly to sort out the contracts... how can wilkins be blamed,,, surely he can only work with the resouces that he has..... please lets get behind dean and the boys now....

Apart from the fact i agree with everything above :clap2:, how will the team advance if everytime we have a bad run and we do actually change the manager ? other teams have tried it and failed miserably, forget the fact we dont have a pot to piss in !!

I don't agree with JBE for one minute as he is a stirrer of the 1st degree but Wilkins does have to take some blame for the last two defeats. Exactly the same thing happened last year over the Christmas period. Was it really necessary to do two lots of training Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day? As pointed out McGhee always let the players have Christmas Day off and we won the Boxing Day matches with him.
It's easy to blame the players and/or the board (I did the same myself when things went wrong for McGhee) but look at Palace (I know it's an awful comparison) Warnock hasn't changed any players but has taken them from the relegation zone to near the playoffs with motivation, good selection and tactics.
The buck always stops with the manager.

You didn't say that with our last one.

No, I said DK let him down with not replacing players that had to be sold or let go.
That's the excuse people are making with Wilkins now isn't it? Double standards? Yes.

Wilkins hasn't had the chance to replace anyone yet, if he doesnt get any new faces in during the transfer window maybe it will be time to think again- until then patiance is a virtue.

The manager is responsible for picking the team from what he has available. That certainly doesn't help a manager when what he has to pick from is not very good.

The manager is also responsible for the formation and the tactics, and this is where our current manager is failing badly.Todays formation left us on the deep defensive for long stretches of the game, and was predictable from the get-go.The strategy was lump the ball in the air and run around in circles. This did not work.

For all about to reach for their keyboards in shock and horror,....its only two games....we've a young and developing team....we should support our manager...blah,blah,blah.Forget it.

Managers crap, teams crap. But we have been here before, and yes we should continue to support the club in bad times as well as good, which is why I will continue to watch them and suffer,as I have done these 50+ years.

But what we have is a genuine sows ear.

the problem today was that
a) the midfield was utter gash
b) rents and cox were utterly crap at closing down the yeovil winger.

we are a very average team but luckily a very young one at that so hopefully these players will get better.
