Anyone recall season 1988-89, just after we'd been promoted back to the 2nd tier. We had a DISASTROUS start to the season, losing something like 8 or 9 games on the trot (including home and away defeats to 3rd/4th division opposition in our obligatory 1st round exit in the League Cup). Leeds arrived at the Goldstone in October with the Albion rock-bottom, in complete disarray and utterly punch-drunk from the weekly beatings we were enduring as we struggled to adapt to the higher level. The result ?

When Leeds were relegated I have never known such joy from fans of all clubs now there is the prospect of them not making it out of this division.

I can't tell you how big a smile that puts on my face. In the queue for the buses on saturday some Leeds fans were still saying it was our cup final going to Leeds! This is exactly the attitude that makes them so popular amongst the football community!!
