Does anyone else ever get like this?
You get fed up eating the same old stuff over and over again and you can't think of anything new to try and even if you do it's either too complicated or boring to cook it or you can't get the ingredients etc. In the end you just end up not fancying anything.

What? Nobody else? Righto, must just be me then.

I've just had my fave "can't really be arsed" meal - beans and sausages on toast with a bit of grated cheese and brown sauce.

Splendid.

Yes, it happens to me every now and again. I have walked through the aisles of a supermarket with an empty basket and have not seen anything that I really want. I have found that a good fry-up generally solves the immediate problem but in the long term it just seems to be a matter of time before I suddenly seem to fancy certain meals again.

When I was in that zone, I'd find myself heading for the Findus boil in a bag beef, and a ready to warm Ciabatta loaf.
20 mins later I'd be eating a great big slab of heavily buttered roast beef sandwich with dunking gravy. Sorted me right out

Happy days.

Does happen from time to time, much as I like food. Generally end up with Herta hot dogs with Dijon mustard.

Supermarkets are only there so you buy things you don't need. For example, during the summer heatwave, I bought 8 cans of dog food. When I got back to my car, however, I discovered I didn't need it.

Yes but there is a limit to the fresh veg that are available in the supermarkets at this time of year. I like or rather we like roast dinners a lot so this again limits the choices and it is usually carrotts, cauli with or without cheese, parsnips which only I like, Swede which wife likes and sprouts and the stautory frozen peas.

Thanks for the clarification

Seriously? Have you any idea how many foods are out there? I have never got bored of food. There are so many food groups. TV dinners, microwave dinners, takeaways, tinned food, dehydrated foods, crisps, pot noodles, supper noodles, dog food, cat food, cheeeeeese!!!!! Just dont eat ' organic food' Its grown in shit!

I would have had that very meal tonight (minus the brown sauce and cheese) if Tesco, to my DISDAIN, hadn't stopped stocking this.

NOT IMPRESSED.

Well with todays fuel prices, its probably just not cost effective to produce and distrubite dirt cheap own-brand goods such as this.

The beans & sausages I had were Heinz. Would you believe I just rifled through the bin to find the empty can, just to check.

*sigh*
Where did it all go so wrong.
