Booing Akpom

I don't actually think he is a bad player, he just isn't up to our sort of play. He is no baldock, and I think that is the problem.

Personally I think that is where we went wrong in the transfer window, but obviously the fantastic position we are in has masked this, in that he is not a suitable cover.

Murphy on the other hand is booooooooed by me. Hahahaaaaaaaaar

If Baldock is still not fit for Tuesday, then start either start Hemed or throw in the Towell ;o).
Towell must start on Tuesday if Baldock isn't fit, or a place on the bench if we start with Tomer and Glenn.

I honestly thought they were singing for Solly to replace Akpom - it's not his best position by far but he would've done a better job. As for Skalak he's happy.

10 secs later it should have been clear when they started singing for Hemed as well. I thought Hughton would wait a bit so it didn't seem like he was reacting to the crowd, but fair play he actually could sense it would get the crowd up and it did when he warmed them up immediately and brought them on 5 mins later

No player deserves getting booed just because they aren't very good.

When they display no interest in helping the side, are lazy and clueless there is a bit of a case...One thing I think is highly likely is that we saw the last of Ackpom in an Albion shirt.

Sorry but he's absolutely shit. Can't hold the ball up. no pace (or can't be bothered - as evidenced by his laughable breakaway when he was outpaced by a lardy centre back) and no technique. If he has that entitled, money grabbing arrogance that every young Premier League player seems to affect these days, mirrored to those skills, then I vote we send him back to the Arse tomorrow marked as unsatisfactory goods, since he's probably harming the team spirit too. His body language was awful - what wanky motivational speakers would call a "mood hoover". I'd rather rely on Murphy, Towell and the DS squad in the run in.

Amongst a bunch of fans I talk to all the time I was the only one defending him, thought he never really got a fair crack of being judged when he has played 10 minutes here and 15 there and expected him to change their minds today but instead he changed mine, I didn't hear his name on the commentary more than a few times including the announcement of the sub. What is he thinking, he sits and watches Sam play, he knows what's expected of him and just mooches about? I'm genuinely in the Connolly camp too, it's extreme but if SB is back on Friday just give the lad a bench spot and bin off Chuba.

Akpom had a poor game but I was shocked that people actually booed him. He didn't deserve that. Not true fans imho.

Do people really think he cares so little that he didn't try?

I genuinely think he will feel absolutely gutted tonight, that his big chance didn't work out.

He tried, he's just not very good

Akpom would struggle to get in Hastings United's starting XI. No need to boo him, but there's more chance of him scratching round in non-league football in 10 years time than him having played in The Premier League.

Annoyed that Murray (33 year old) was doing Akpom's (21 year old) pressing and chasing down, considering we have a game on Tuesday and Friday, our 'senior' striker should not have to be doing the running for two.

I did not boo him, but shouted 'waste of shirt'. Simply not putting in the effort for his parent club.

You would have been quite restrained compared to some in the WSU near my son and his mate. They were just laughing. To date they've not repeated it in front of Grandma. You're in the wrong stand :moo:

If anyone on this board sticks up for him, someone with the username Dale Jasper would be it.

Dale Jasper never left the centre circle.

This is what really gets me. Arsenal must have seen something in him to sign him. Whatever it was he clearly cannot be bothered to reproduce any more. Looks like he'll end up going the way of Nile Ranger on today's performance.

In my opinion he wont achieve close to what Nile Ranger has. He's not good enough to be a professional footballer. I've watched enough non-league football, right down to Ryman Div1 South down the years, as well as watching Albion in the lower leagues and this kid 'aint got it I'm afraid.

He's mentioned in Micheal Calvins book about scouting and stuff. Liam brady had suggested there is an attitude problem with their under 18's and others I guess, to much to young. I photographed the page. but in BG mode it will only load in landscape and I can't turn it round.
