[Help] Boiler engineer.wanted for gas certificate and what I hope is just a service

I'm in rented and my boiler needs a bit of attention.
I've got a guy in Eastbourne who I've talked through with and he reckons he'd charge as much for his travelling time as he would for the job.

Any NSC boiler boffins out there?

We're both on the case but the bloke he uses is on holiday and he's asked for recommendations from a few people and they've either recommended the bloke he uses of not recommended anyone.I

Plus I think I've diagnosed the problem and could do with having a chat with the plumber so that I can keep the boiler ticking over safely until they're available to do it properly. It's not an emergency call out job.

I was told yesterday that I need, basically a whole new central heating system, thick end of 3 grand.
My present boiler is over 20 years old, so, it’s done well.
Christmas is cancelled this year tho.
