Evening all. Taking my first hallowed steps into these surroundings so, er, please don't hound me down too quickly.
Rumours swirling today that Bobby Zamora will be loaned to West Ham for the rest of the season, possibly as part of a deal taking Defoe to Spurs. Am surprised we're being linked with Defoe, maybe we're trying to gradually swoop for the entire West Ham attack as we did (with depressing results) to the Wimbledon defence a few years back.
But there seems a bit of scepticism in this forum about Bobby's Tottenham future too. Would have liked to see him feature more and at least notch up a Premiership goal, but the few chances he's had, I think he's certainly looked willing and promising. Worth perseverance. He has featured in some of the recent games, albeit as a substitute on the wings rather than up-front. And survived almost being chopped in half by a typically inept Palace player (who survived a red card thanks to an even more inept ref).
But anyway, hope he gets more time at the Lane and remain confident he'll deliver the goods ultimately. You can't have him back just yet!
Mark Yeates is in our squad for tomorrow's FA Cup game. Was very impressed by him in pre-season and glad to hear the encouraging reviews from his Albion loan. Saw the Oldham game and he looked about the most inventive player in the blue-and-white stripes, although substituted. Surprised he didn't score a few more goals, though - he was on fire for our reserves last year, scored something like nine in the last eight games. Reminds me of Robbie Keane - in looks, attitude, style of play, nationality and also speaking-so-fast-you-can-barely-understand-a-word-he-says-to-be-sure.
Good luck for the rest of the season. Trip to the Millennium Stadium, I reckon.
