Sad news. Was never a massive fan of Cannon & Ball back in the day, but thought he'd really found his feet with his excellent role as Lee's dad in Not Going Out.

‘Bobby Ball - is that your real name?’

‘No, my real name is Flora Margarine but I don’t like to spread it around’.

Comedy of a different century.

RIP.

RIP Bobby, a comedian who's laughs did not come at an expense to someone else. Old school family comedy.

This is so sad.

The 5Live Drivetime show had Cannon and Ball on at least twice over recent months that I heard, to talk about their wonderful "Together We'll Be OK" song as it was such an upbeat tune during the gloomy days experienced earlier this year.

The BBC even arranged for the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra to record it remotely in lockdown. You can listen to that here: https://fb.watch/1qkjW7S98w/

Here's the wonderful original:

Eddie Large, Tim Brooke Taylor and Bobby Ball. All gentle comedians and all taken by this pernicious disease. RIP

I heard that show. Very uplifting at the time.

Hope producers can add their vocal to the orchestral version.

Loved Cannon and Ball in my younger days, very silly comedy but incredibly enjoyable. There was a great clip I saw a while back of Bobby struggling to get through a sketch as he kept laughing, wish I could find it now as it showed what a fantastic pairing they were working off each other. Bobby was great in Not Going Out and Mount Pleasant even though he was essentially playing the same character in both. They were due to do a short run before Xmas in Lytham St Annes after their pantomime bookings were cancelled this year.

RIP.
