Ive alwasy found it straing that we declard war on Germany but not Russia.

Russia never declared war on us... why fight an enemy who isn't bent on fighting you? we were struggling enough with the Germans/Italians! plus i think anyone with half a brain knew that the alliance between russia and germany was never going to last. both Hitler and Stalin knew this. it was never an alliance, more of a truce.

In London village.
Polish pilots helped win The Battle of Britain. After the anglo Nazi/Soviet victory in Poland, 1939,Polish pilots escaped to Britain via Romania,Hungary and France.I could give you full details but this might send you all to sleep, but i will say that this country owes so much to those brave and courageous young men.

The RAF Roll of Honour records 574 non-UK pilots out of the 2353 RAF pilots during the battle. 145 of the non-UK were Poles, including a significant number of the aces.

The rason France and Britian declared war on Germany was to protect Poland. We declard war on them. Not other way round. I though anyone with half a brain new that!!! I understand we did not declard war on Russia was becasuse we problebly new that Germany would go after Russia in the end.

1 september 1939 germany declars war on Poland. 3rd We declare was on Germany. Russia takes half of Poland with out a word.

Ok. Italy did not declare war until 1940 though.

You said 'Russia never decleard war on us. Nor did Germany is my point int that argument.

We were not 'struggling enough with the Germans/Italians'. (italy was not involved yet and we sent toops to france after what is known as 'the phoney war' as nothing much happened.

The reason, i supose we did not declear war on Russia is becuase we knew that there was no way of defending (getting thier country back) them anyway.

Time to get the history books out.Gemany and Russia agreed to split Poland between them (non aggression pact signed 23rd aug 1939)

I know. Also Russia had a failed go at Finland. And took the baltic states.

Germany did not enter Poland until 1st sept 1939.

Erm, no.

If you had any knowledge of this country - which you don't - you'd know there are sizeable areas of the country which speak Irish as their first language. Its legally but not in practice the first official language of the country, with a national TV station, a national radio station and stations in Dublin, Cork and even Belfast operating through that language.

Travellers claim to have their own language known as "Shelta" which is basically a corruption of Irish and English together. Two travellers from different families can't even talk to each other in this "language" as its not actually a language.

it is your legal right in Ireland to demand that if a police officer pulls you over, you can demand he write the ticket in Gaelic (Irish). then you just hope he doesn't know how to write Gaelic! :yahoo:
