Anyone over 13 years old that wears a football shirt when not playing football really does need to look at themselves.

We are Brighton, not bar code over the top unquestioning Newcastle fans.

Please don't wear football shirts when you are not playing football as you just look daft, especially if you are over weight or have glasses or are looking a bit old.

Scarf? yes if you must. Bobble hat? Only if you are female and over 65. But no football shirts for anyone over 13 years old.

I'm over 13, overweight, wear glasses and wear a different Albion shirt most days

you've got me a bit worried now, I'm a forty something, with glasses, over the years i've aquired quite a collection of Fred Perry shirts/ jumpers etc. therefore there is a good chance i'll be wearing one at Anfield, the electric blue one is presently my first choice, however it has now been brought to my attention that I don't play tennis, Dear Dierdrie, what should I do?

Dear Dr Notthenineo'clocknews
I understand that growing older is a shame. When you are 10 you leave your Space Hopper behind, when 13 you leave your football shirt behind, except when playing sport. It is all a part of life that we all move onwards until eventually we pass on.

I know, I understand, we have all been there. I am afraid the same must go for your Fred Perry. That is hard I know, as that shirt has memories of being young, chasing girls, running with the lads, but its over.

You have reached maturity and you must act and dress as a man. Its time my friend for your suit, shirt, belt (or braces) and maybe flat cap. Its hard I know but nobody likes 40 somethings trying to be teenagers or 20 somethings.

There is I am afraid a lack of provision on the NHS for support groups to help you through this transition but try to focus on the positive. You are in the prime of life. The height of your powers, so enjoy that, and say, with great fondness, a farewell to the Fred Perry.

you'll be 'old' (44) like me one day you cheeky young whippersnapper, If I see you at Anfield i'll give you a clip round the ear, you little rapscallien (to help for ID purposes am I looking for a '20 something with a baseball cap the wrong way round and a pair of skin tight jeans with the crouch round the knees and the wind whistling up his arse on a freezing cold day, trying to pass for a 16 year old?)

I don't wear a footie shirt - just not me!!!

I will be sporting my Albion undies though for sure under my clothes!!

Will be wearing my scarf and hat if it's chilly too!

I can't wait now - but two more games to win first - before I really start to get excited x

I'm a bit too old for a clip around the ear as I'm old enough to pass a bob or two to the bar-maid and be drinking a bottle of brown ale down the local Ale House. Afraid I won't be at Liverpool but I can be recognised wearing hob nail boots, spats, a three piece suit and when its cold an overcoat. If I had of been at Liverpool then I might of worn a roset saying "up the Albion" and may have even dug out the old gas rattle from the trenches to celebrate cup fever.

Don't forget to bring loads of ripped up newspaper for a ticker tape entrance when the teams come onto the pitch , Argentina 78 , remember late 70s all clubs doing it , great to bring it back again,

When was the last time you saw a toilet roll thrown perfectly onto a football pitch how did people used to throw it so it would unravel in mid air (mind boggling )

LOLOLOL a dress down to the ankles!!! LOLOLOOLOLOLLOLOOL

And no doubt a wide brim hat with a feather in it.
i expect the club do a line in blue and white stripe corsets. Time for me to take my seat by the fire in the parlour as its not my place to be talking about My Lady's undergarments. If I'm not careful the local Peelers will be after me.

Bobble hat for me on Sunday - I'll be slumming it that day -

We are weraing BLUE AND WHITE according to the way I have read the email from the club today.

We also have a huge range of hats and scarves to keep you warm and of course the ever popular 2011-12 home kit, that the team will be wearing for the game, is still available in all junior and adults sizes.
