Is it worth gambling the point that I suspect we could collect with relative ease playing our normal game by playing a highly attacking formation instead and look to take all three points?

What are McGhee's options. He could play Hart just behind the front two but who would he play wide on the right? Hmm.

With Oatway, Carpenter and Reid in the middle?

No Jones? Or Hammond?

So I assume we all agree that it is worth playing an attacking formation, leaving even bigger gaps in midfield than normal and gambling the probability of a single point to try and claim all three?

No we don't all agree - a point would be a good result. At this stage, there is still more chance that other teams will catch us than we will catch QPR, we can't afford to chuck points away.

Hartlepool, Luton and Port Vale could still challenge strongly - none of those teams are out of it. All it would take is a bad run of 3 games and we could be in the shit again.

It would be idiotic to abandon the tactics that have served us so well. Our entire gameplan is built around giving the opposition nothing in midfield.

The romantic in me would prefer Piercy's skill to be on the pitch but the realist says Jonah and OGH are more likely to get us the points.

I think that was true up until last week. We look nailed on now. FOUR wins would guarantee a playoff place with our GD, but in reality we'll need only three - especially as everybody else is playing each other it seems.

Yeah good point. It aint broke so you're probably right. Although perhaps something needs to be changed away from home as we are piss poor.

I'd agree it was "nailed on" if our form really was flying, but it isn't. There was a lot of good fortune about our last two wins, vital points were very nearly handed to Colchester and Hartlepool. Our luck at Withdean is going to run out sooner or later playing the way we are currently and we may well need the odd scrambled point away from home to carry us over the play-off finish line.

Although Bristol's run has been crap, QPR have been doing OK recently and they will really need to screw up over Easter to give us a sniff.

High up on the South Downs.
One tactic would be to drop Oatway whose contributions away from home have been dreadful - slow and lightweight. Make him sub so he can gee the others up.
If we want to gamble on 3 points, pick Piercy.

Assuming they're fit I would play;

Iwelumo Knight

Jones Oatway Chippy Hart

Harding Butters Cullip Virgo

Roberts

This side has put together the best run this season and has looked solid at the back. Why change a winning side? I agree that we should go for the goals though. We NEED the win.
