If there is something racist going on behind the scenes in football the FA should have put it right by now but positive discimination is equally as bad.

Perhaps as young black men have grown up they've aspired to be great players like Pele, but they haven't had many black managers to look up to, so it's not been much of an ambition. Hopefully it'll change in time.

think in the NFL you have to interview a coloured manager whether you like it or not.
Get with the f***ing times already.

With Terry Connor managing Wolves there are now three black managers in the football league ( apparently chris hugging counts ???). There are a huge number of black players, so why not managers?

The appointments last week of TC & Keith Curle doubled the amount of black managers in the Footbal League.

There is not enough black swimmers either, does discrimination exist in aquatic sports?

Or arguably there are too many black sprinters and not enough white ones so it that discrimination ?

Fact of the matter is that, even without deliberately trying to be unfair, work forces tend to reproduce themselves. At the very least, that's the dynamic going on 'behind the scenes.' So, a predominantly female nursery management team will tend to employ another woman, if one left. Similarly, a Chinese restaurant with Chinese bosses will tend to look to Chinese community for recruiting staff. It's the way of the world. And, in the example of this thread, a mainly white, male board at a professional football club in England will tend to employ another white, male as a boss. People mostly want what's familiar and want to know where they stand, even if it inadvertently means the 'best' person doesn't get the job.

We've gotta understand that that's at play, and applies to humans of all walks of life, before we can get beyond it.

The problem is a lot of managers seem to get recycled while managers who don't do it in their first job seem to not get a second chance.
