1) If we are are really a team with "goals in us" Dean, then why are you playing with 1 up front when we have only scored 1 goal in 2007!

2) Why play the Arsenal lad at left back to replace Mayo? It was horribly obvious that the man hasn't got a left foot to save his life! He got skinned time after time down the left from the 46th minute onwards. Why not play him centre back, with Lynch left back?! And why did it take him until the 82nd minute to notice this error, and then decide to bring Rents (a defender) on while we were chasing the game!! Surely too late to make any difference.

3) Gatting. Came on i think in the 86th minute. We needed a goal, were creating chances but could have played on for the next month and not scored. Why make the change so late?

Can't help but think there's some bizarre decisions made there that McGhee would be CRUCIFIED for. And you can't really blame Mayo. Why play a slow left back against a pacy winger when you've got a faster one sitting on the bench? Asking for trouble.Madness:nono:

I have to admit it smelt of desperation. Wilkins did deserve his chance though you must admit.

Gatting should have been on with 15 mins to go.

Rents came on 1 hour too late he should have been on 2 or 3 minutes after Mayos booking as a sending off was inevitable.

Sadly I believe that Dean Wilkins and /or Dean White is being exposed as tactically naive.

2) wasn't a bizarre decision, bizarre would have been moving our outstanding centreback to left back and putting the extremely shaky O' Cearuill in the centre.

O'Cearuill was signed as a centre back i was lead to believe.

And he was shaky because his left foot is probably worse than mine!!!

He was shaky at rightback too.

As I said on another thread-he wasn't (and still isn't) ready.

One thing is 100% definite: we desperately need a first team coach to assist Wilkins. One that has an idea of what is needed on the pitch.

Everyone is entitled to a bad game and Joe had his today. Not everything he did was poor, but a lot. He is young and young players are prone to inconsistency. I am sure Dean and Dean will allow him to use this as part of the learning curve.

I'm not denying that. But playing a player so obviously out of position seems ridiculous. He gave the ball away and got skinned straight after half time, and it wa sonly downhill from there. Yet Wilkins waited until the 82nd minute to change things (although admittedly he was standing on the touchline waiting to come on for a few minutes), by which time it was the ATTACK that needed changing.

Do we send out scouts to watch the opposition and report back.

If so, why do we always come up against a fast winger at Brentford and play a slow left back to mark him. It has happened for the last 3 or 4 trips there.

We seem to pride ouselves on being flexible and Dean seems to think that we are able to play our players in many different positions. Perhaps Joe has played well ther before? I don't know what happens in training. I am not defending the choice, but you want to keep your options open. Maybe he thought he woulddo a decent job out there...

I admit that thingsd needed changing badly, but we made one sub at half time and we needed to keep our options open. I could be talking crap. Biut too much vino!!

If you don't get the ball in the box then you are never going to score goals.

Well why put our most creative MIDFIELDER up front then you fool?!
