After promises of a rain free fortnight just a couple of days ago, I check the BBC weather this morning and we now have a 50% chance of storms this afternoon.Perhaps our weather sages on here can explain this dramatic change of heart?

After promises of a rain free fortnight just a couple of days ago, I check the BBC weather this morning and we now have a 50% chance of storms this afternoon.Perhaps our weather sages on here can explain this dramatic change of heart?

There's a weak front in the mix today, which combined with some additional humidity could trigger a few heavy showers.

This was always possibly today and maybe tomorrow.
