Not bothered at the moment - will be if i'm not allowed to eat chicken (my staple food) if it gets too bad!

We as a society always hype up things to make them look a lot worse than it really is. We take out the really negative peices to make it appear that much worse.

The same applies with 'global warming' - a definition which should not be used if you actually know what it means.

I am not bothered by it all.

This is an epidemic that was identified two years ago. Since then, it has affected livestock all over Asia and in that time, I believe, it has killed fewer than 100 people (all of whom were poultry farmers). More than 2 billion people live in Asia so that doesn't strike me as a high fatality rate.

Of course, there's the possibility that it could spread to the UK and spread to humans but it seems a low risk - I'm much more at risk every time I cycle into town.

I'm only bothered because we have a lot of chicken and I couldn't bear it if we had to cull them. If we didn't have them, I wouldn't be overly concerned.

Quite. I think poultry owners have reason to be concerned; but the rest of us? Nah.
