I think it would show a lack of ambition if he decided to sign for us...

I disagree. In the long term we've got loads of potential even when compared to a lot of clubs currently in the Championship and signing for us would show that he's ambitious for him and our club, and is in it for the long haul.

The new stadium is 2 years off, and having it guarantees absolutely nothing. There are plenty of clubs with potential but we are historically a yoyo tier 3/tier 4 club and have had a dabble in the top flight once. I think probably 50%+ clubs can claim to have done that?

Signing for us when a Championship clubs are interested shows a distinct lack of ambition imo, we probably won't be in the Championship for at least 2 years and why would the guy want to potentially waste those seasons in League One? As a selling club he'd be moving on anyway after a couple of seasons if he proved consistently good, so why not stay in the Championship??

Having said all that I'd love it if he signed for us, just don't see there's anyway he will, I mean it's not like we're big spenders in the transfer market and haven't been for 30 years, we'd have to spend big to bring him here.

Why drop down a division to a team with small crowds in a bad stadium away from where you are settled.
This wont ever happen, £20 to REMF if it does (**price stated with caution)

As has been said. It depends what The Lizard will pay in wages.

He is just the sort of player who Brighton need to make a statement of intent for this season and the next, but he is a young professional whose career could be ended at any time by injury etc. so must think about his future and how much dosh he can accumulate whilst playing.

Players like Forster who is still pacy and able in their thirties are few and far between.

What we have to remember is that we have not signed a young proven striker for decades. Yes, we've done brilliantly with Bristol Rovers 4th or 5th choice striker and tempting players in their twighlight like Forster but we have not managed to tempt proven, non mental (LK), goalscorers ( at our level and above) since I was a young lad

Why are Doncasters ambitions below Brightons? I fail to see this?

They have a new ground and why would they not be thinking of pushing on to the top half / play offs of the Championship like Hull?

It costs a lot more money to build a team to push for promotion in the championship. Hull were fortunate that their ground was funded by the council so they could invest much of their higher turnover at the kc stadium back into their player budget.

Money you assume Brighton to have?
