Great to see him come good - until very recently I was pretty sure RDZ didn't fancy him at all and he'd be on his bike in the summer to get game time somewhere else. Hope that's not the case now

Really do think Billy deserves a place in our starting eleven. Hopefully things work out next season. This guy is too good to lose.

Thought he was excellent last night. Made £70m Casemiro look useless.
Gilmour isn’t going to replace Caicedo or Biss for that matter. But he can play in the role alongside. His technical ability is class, he’s got bottle and he’s a fighter and I hope he’s with us for a while. However if he ever scores for us I’ll be very surprised, I love what he does but it will annoy a few who expect his all round game to be more than it is.

Needs to start every game now until the end of the season or he plays a stinker.

Fans do seem to be extreme when a young player doesn’t get minutes immediately. Enciso has definitely been on the weights since he joined they’ve bulked him up to deal with the physicality of the PL and now he’s holding players off and generally being superb. Macalister also went through the bulking up process and young Billy may of gone through a similar process until he was deemed ready for action.

Agreed, but he wasn’t alone in giving the ball away. In the first half the whole team seemed to be struggling a bit with the passes at times, credit to United for not giving us time on the ball though. I really like what I’ve seen of him, he is also quite vocal and demanding of the ball too. He seems to have cracked De Zerbi ball

He definitely is a quality player and I'm very happy to have him, BUT he is not better than Caicedo (lets face it, not many are) or Macallister, so if we have them as options and everyone else is fit, Billy's on the bench.

His last 2 performances have made me feel a bit better about the potential loss of Mac Allister this summer. Looks a very good option alongside Caicedo, with Gross and Moder as alternatives in that no.8 role. Not to mention Ayari and Kozlowski with good potential too
Enciso and Buonanotte are very promising as no. 10's, and Joao Pedro could be an option there too.

Two weeks ago I was very worried about how our midfield would look when Caicedo goes, but I have confidence now Gilmour will slot into his position. He's not as good Caicedo, but he is genuinely world class and will probably be the best player we ever see in an Albion shirt so that's no slight on Billy.

Gilmour’s introduction to the team is like having a new signing towards the end of the season. Could be very important as other teams start to tire.

There was an interesting comment on the Man City game on Wednesday about how Pep brings in new players and they don’t flourish until the second season When they really come good. I suspect that’s something we need to expect here. They have to understand and acclimatise to a new way of playing. Listening to Dunk yesterday it sounds almost like learning chess moves when they play the ball at the back. So I agree we need to give players time and it will take some longer than others.

He's different. He's a better and quicker passer than Moises and Mac which isn't necessarily what RDZ wants. As Dunk hinted, he's not as focussed on one touch passing as it might seem. He's going to have had to learn to adapt his game.
He'll need to get stronger on the ball but he's a wee bairn, he's clearly got huge potential here. My new favourite player after two games of the most ridiculous touches and passing.

Until he fouled someone you mean!
The one thing he seems to lack (at present) is that ridiculous ability of Caicedo in particular to receive the ball facing our own goal, turn and head upfield leaving one or two opponents grasping at thin air. So many of our best attacks start like that.
