Super slow version of "We Are Brighton" at the start. Peter Ward surprisingly left on the bench, Teddy Maybank suspended too. We took a couple of thousand up there. Orient fans had placed a big bed sheet with 'Orient are magic' behind one goal and a few of their fans were sporting the ol' silk scarves by the dugouts. Good job there was only one sub as it was tight as on the bench, Mullery struggled to lift himself off of it each time we scored. The pitch was two-thirds sand and the actual match ball a plain white Admiral. Classic.
I was there 11 years old at the time. Went with my late dad and bruv.
