Watch out for the pyrotechnics.

To quote Mullers: “I wonder if those smoke bombs were a move by Venners!”

I'll warm up my television set. I'm glad it isn't on BBC2 because it hasn't been invented yet. :)

I picked up an old TV from the Dump a few years ago . . . came from a shop in old protslade around 1960 . . . had a 1962 Arsegas in it with spare valves wrapped up inside . . . no one wanted it so I reluctantly took it bck a few weeks later.

I kept the paper

Ha! Yes wonderful pieces of furniture some of those old original televisions, as were gramophones which looked like cabinets, remember them?

I can remember my parents owning a Pye tv, and a Ferguson gramophone back in the late 1960's/early 70's, then if either went wrong, as they frequently did back in the day, he rang a repairman who would come around and put it right.

Those were the days!

twiddling the vertical hold knob was thing, I remember my Grandmother getting a Sony colour TV with 6 channels, it was like a space ship compared to our TV . . . all inside a double doored Mahogony Cabinet!

ITV4 17:50 tonight (Tuesday 25th)

Action from October 1976, including Brighton & Hove Albion v Crystal Palace, Leeds United v Manchester United and Southampton v Fulham

They recently had the Norwich away game from 1981 on. This assault on Giles Stille was not given as penalty, a foul, anything!

The Metropolitan League ran from the 1949-50 season to 1970-71 season. It was a feeder league to the Southern League, although promotion wasn't guaranteed. We entered a reserve team, known as Brighton and Hove Albion 'A' between 1950-51 and 1961-62 when we left the league (I am not sure but I think this was when our reserve side joined the Combination League). Our highest finish was 4th in 1958-59.
