Yep- and only just recovered..!

Lots of :smokin: + :drink: ensured a good weekend but quite a few things let it down compared to last years at Salisbury.

Massive queues for everything- min 30 mins for food, 25 mins for a beer, and 30 mins at Champagne bar (it was 11 deep at one point on saturday nite..I know cos I was so bored/fed up with waiting for my chick who was in there somewhere....)

Toilets: Not enough, and not cleaned quick enough, until they got lots of moans on the saturday

Showers: For me these were the winner last year, but only 25% worked (so more big queues..) and it was just a shitty 15mm pipe with 3 small hole in an end cap..
It was a dribble at your head, and just a vapour by the time it got to your feet...

Still enough moaning, some great highlights topped off with rocking West Country Band THE WORZELS kicking it off on Sunday afternoon..!!
A housed up version of 'I've got brand New Combine Harvester..'
had the whole place jumping and wanting more..a proper Big Chill moment..! :lolol:

Also saw:
A guy called gerald (played a heavy D+B set)
Nightmares on Wax
John Peel (didn't intoduce himself at all, just played a very eclectic mix inc some industrial techno that Sven Vath would have been proud of..)
Tom Middleton (Good house set)
Francois Kevorkian
Echo
Eva Abraham
MixMaster Morris
Mr Scruff

Notable Absentees:
Talvin Singh (big crowd gathered but dont think he turned up..)

All in, still very good, but as they increased the numbers to about 15k it appears some big production issues weren't increased in line...

Will I (and the BHA 2002 Promotion flag..) go again.. Probably..!

Any one else concuur..?

R

Shame they slacked on the facillities as that was their strong point in the past, maybe its getting to big for itself.

Would have loved to have gone all the same though.

AD- Exactly..
For some one who doesn't take kindly to being called a soap-dodger, having a decent shower convinces me to got to these events..

In their defence, they got the bogs sorted enough for the chicks in our party to be reasonably happy by saturday afternoon, and are well known for listening to complaints, and putting things right later..

Quick note:
My chick was skinning up in the comedy tent at about 3am ish, and security (only saw about 5 all weekend..) walked around and saw her.. Thinking she about to get busted, she coyly hid the doob and looked as inncocent as could..
Security just tapped her on the shoulder and said 'No need to act like your at school here, you just carry on..!'
Smart..!

So see ya next year then..?!

Agree Rowdey. At the Enchanted Garden last year I don't think I queued for a single thing..and this was a major plus for me. Was diappointed to have to scrum for a beer or some food this time round. Also preferred the Enchanted Garden venue, smaller, more intimate and less open. It felt more like a gathering as opposed to a festival.

Highlights were John Peel, Ulrich Snuass, Howie B, Arthur Baker (played a mental set in the Bombay Sapphire marquee.....when his Model 12" jumped, he simply smashed it on the deck and chucked it out the door...) and meeting Mr Scruff and Tom Middleton.

i went.

and i worked there doing 'leave no trace'.

was absolutely superb, best festival ive ever been too, great atmosphere, great weather. brilliant!! and i got a free ticket and a ton for 20 hours work over 4 days!!

a reidn got done for possesion though, odd huh?? sounds like he was the only one, and the security and police were very embarrased about it all.

highlights for me- ulrich scnhauss, ralph myers.., francois k, matthew herbet and nitin sawhney.

quality!!

Thought Ulrich Scnhauss was superb. Never heard of him until I stumbled across his Friday night set.

One Sunday I bumped into Tom Middleton, had a natter to him about a track he player..a lovely layered synth thing, turned out to be an unreleased Scnhuass track. Just purchased one of his albums.

Shame about your mate...if the police and security were embarrassed why did they bust him?
