Tell you what caught my eye:

Demolition of petrol filling station to create 28 storey building with 182 sqm of Class A uses at ground floor and 148 residential units above.

First off - a 28 storey building? That is gonna be huge.

Secondly - Ground floor dedicated to Class A's. How cool is that? Fingers crossed that E's don't get downgraded then.

Shame they can't tow the whole place half a mile along the beach and connect it to the town

Or rip it up and start again

It certainly needs a revamp, I was in there on Wednesday and there are hardly any shops left.

Hope it doesn't go to a Government enquiry because I want a transfer to the Marina Asda in about 2 years time.

I believe it was 50 stories in the original plans.

Unfortunately that won't be there then.

Apparently they were offered the chance to renew the lease on the basis of being involved in the redevelopment, but they have declined.

Have fun staying in Hollingbury! :bigwave:

Unlucky.

Wonder what supermarket will go there instead, Tesco?

The plans (or similar) have been around for a while. Hard to believe they will build flats in the current climate. More likely to be securing planning permission as a long-term value increase to secure short-term debt restructuring.
In terms of location, I believe they will contribute towards the 'rapid transit' proposal planned to link it to the station via West Street. Eventually.
