So what's the deal with this place? Is it worth the two hour trek? I'm looking for a suit for my wedding and the fiancée reckons it's a good bet...

Its ok - I went there many years ago as we were going past to somewhere else and didn't come away with much. Its much more fun stomping the boards of Brighton for a day. There are a lot of stores there I wouldn't ordinarily buy from so have a look at the list and decide whether you like the stores on offer before travelling that far.

I've got two suits from Bicester, both Valentino. Not too bad up there in all honesty, so long as your not fat.

Stopped in on way through in January and to be honest it's just a bit more upmarket version of Gunwharf Quays. Lots of designer labels but mostly garish colours, over/under sizes and limited stock. Seemed better for accessories rather than clothing but then I wasn't in the market for a handbag or sunglasses. Only purchase I made on the day was a Starbucks. Would suggest avoiding weekends, particularly Saturday's as the car parks were rammed.

Been to Bicester a couple of times but never came away with anything that really made the effort worth while. Much as it hurts to suggest going to Pompey I'd have to with GunWharf Quay too as there's other stuff in the vicinity (eg pubs/restaurants overlooking the water) to help justify the trip.

There's also the outlet place at Ashford which is ok but not brilliant but to get there you have to do the dreaded A259 unless you flog around the M25 etc. Could go by train if the line has reopened yet?

It really depends on what you want if you are looking for a designer suit then you will probably pick up a bargain, if you are looking for a cheap suit then it's not the place to go - it really deals in US brands. It is easy to get to from the M40 and if the traffic is good should comforatably do the journey in 2 hours.

I absolutely detest Bicester Village with every fibre of my being.

Hardly ever found anything decent there; as others have said, it's fine if you want the fag ends of lines, both size-wise and fashion-wise.

The place is a soulless desert of consumerism, where around 80% of the people are either Japanese tourists on a tax-free jolly, or wannabe fashonistas dressed in the mandatory uniform of Abercrombie & Fitch.

Ugh. Horrible.

But those are my opinions. I'll be interested in yours if you go!

Bicester is great if you want a pink suit, yellow coat, Hawain shirt or Polka dot trousers.

If you want anything you would actually wear, its SHIT.

Have been dragged there a couple of times in very unsuccessful trips. Its all high end designer stuff which is expensive in the first place. You might be better going to the Swindon outlet centre which is less than an hour from Bristol and has a few good suit shops.

Profile in the Lanes offer superb, expensive, off the peg suits (a friend cones from Southampton especially) & are 'friends of the Albion' & lounge sponsors at The Amex....

I do like Profile, but recently it is like a bloody jumble sale and I always feel like the shop people are looking down on you, as in 'can you really afford that?'

Much prefer shopping in London

My sister lives nearby so I've been a few times passing through. Last time I didn't see a single thing that got my attention. Not worth the trek one little bit. Brighton or London for me any day of the week.

Full of Chinese looking to grab a Burberry bargain.
