think loft looked good because he has found his level - bearing in mind he got picked up two division above hassocks

carpetner on the other hand was shocking - on tonights display he should not touch the first team again and be let go come the end of the season

Games like tonight are about getting a job done. Most of our reserves of late are playing in the first team. They never looked in trouble and once they had the two goal lead kept the ball.

Chippy was fouled high and showed his studs marks to the guy before giving him a slap. I thought he was lucky to stay on as Santos was sent off at Chichester in an earlier round for much less, the refs at that level can be card happy.

In fact the ref tonight blew up for one foul and then kept blowing his whistle as he ran over, as if it was stuck in his gob.

Over all kept the fringe players match fit.

Match Report:

Albion Through To Semis
By Tim Dudding

Albion reached the semi-finals of the Sussex Senior Cup tonight after a 2-0 win against Hassocks at the Beacon Ground.

Nathan Elder was on target with his third goal in as many games for the reserves, with Doug Loft also finding the net.

Elder put the Seagulls ahead in only the fourth minute with a glancing header from a Loft centre.

Loft then made it 2-0 after 20 minutes, finishing well at the near post after a low cross from Alex Frutos.

Scott Chamberlain almost made it 3-0 in the second period, but his free-kick crashed against the crossbar. Trialist Kabba Samura headed in the rebound, but was ruled offside.

New signing Zoumana Bakayogo was busy down the left-hand side.

Albion: (4-4-2) Sullivan; Rents, P Hinshelwood, Elphick, Bakayogo; Loft, Carpenter, Chamberlain, Frutos; Zamura (Pearson 62), Elder. Subs not used: Winterton (GK), Louis, Wills, Skinner, Martin.

:lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

thought the ref was too keen to show off - probably due to not experiencing a crowd like that before. didn't really let the game flow that much - did like it though when he tried to book jack hewiit, hassocks captain and number four, and he just laughed in his face saying "i thought we were mates"

did seem a bit generous towards the albion as well

Can't believe Tim Dudding has'nt mentioned the live half time draw this Saturday at the Rotterham game.

I may have to take my radio to the game as the tanoy is useless in our section of the south stand.

A good draw and we could all be getting excited about another big final day out at Eastbourne BFC.
