My wife asked me who I thought were our biggest competitors this season, good question I thought. Monday nights clash with QPR is a good starter for 10, so after QPR what about the rest?
If the bookies are anything to go by:
To Win (6 Bookmakers) Best Book 110%
Q P R (4/1), Sheff Wed (11/2), Bristol City (6/1), Brighton (9/1), Tranmere (10/1)
For promotion Paddy Power has:
QPR (6/5), Sheff Wed (6/4), Bristol City (2), Brighton (11/5), tranmere (3), Grimsby (4), Rushden (5), Barnsley (6), Plymouth (13/2), Luton (13/2) , Oldham (13/2).
After all that and some contemplation I'm sitting firmly on the fence still aside from saying I think QPR are, but key loans (particularly for us), transfers and back room cash flow will make all the difference in this division (nothing profound there I know). Which got me to thinking, does that make it more interesting than the Premiership? If you're a betting man I'd bet it's a more difficult division to place a bet in than the Premier.
